Prominent far-left commentators and activists used former President Joe Biden’s recent cancer diagnosis to launch personal attacks, with several issuing graphic and hostile remarks in public social media posts, as reported by The Daily Caller.
The backlash erupted after Biden’s office confirmed on Sunday that the former president has been diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer, which has metastasized to his bones.
While many across the political spectrum offered sympathy and well-wishes, some members of the far-left used the announcement as an opportunity to openly celebrate his condition.

Taylor Lorenz, a former columnist for The Washington Post, posted on X, “Hopefully he rots in hell and rests in piss.” The message was accompanied by a screenshot of a misleading headline from VICE News that falsely quoted Biden in connection with healthcare policies.

Shaun King, a controversial Black Lives Matter figure and onetime surrogate for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign, also expressed satisfaction over the diagnosis.

“Never in my life have I cared less about someone having an ‘aggressive form of cancer’ than I do about Joe Biden,” King posted. “I hate him. He’s a genocidal monster and I hope his final days are painful.”
Leftist influencer and political streamer Hasan Piker echoed the sentiment, accusing Biden of being responsible for global violence and blaming him for President Trump’s second-term victory.
“The msm is already actively laundering the reputation of a war criminal who oversaw the genocide of Palestinians who’s selfish nature allowed Trump to win a second term,” Piker wrote on X. “Joe Biden is an awful monster. Prostate cancer doesn’t change that.”

The inflammatory comments have received sharp criticism online, especially from those noting the double standard in coverage and response depending on political affiliation.
While bipartisan figures, including members of Congress, extended support to Biden and his family, none of the high-profile far-left commentators expressing hostility have issued any retractions or clarifications.
At the time of publication, the Biden team had not responded publicly to the remarks made by Lorenz, King, or Piker.
