Senators John Fetterman and Katie Britt joined Special Report with Bret Baier to discuss the confirmation process for President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees, including Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr. The conversation emphasized the importance of bipartisan engagement and open dialogue in the democratic process.
During the segment, Baier asked Senator Fetterman about his stance on Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination for Director of National Intelligence, referencing Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Mark Warner’s comments about the ongoing vetting process.
“Is this Tulsi Gabbard one of the nominees that you could vote for?” Baier asked.

Fetterman responded by highlighting his approach to meeting with all nominees.
“Well, you know, I met with her. In fact, I think I’ve met with virtually all of them, and the ones that I haven’t, they’re on my schedule, RFK and Governor Noem, so I’m happy to meet with all of them,” Fetterman said.
Addressing criticism of his willingness to meet with nominees, Fetterman stated, “I don’t know why that was controversial. I mean, I got a lot of blowback, just, you know, even to meet with them, and to me, I see that as just doing my job. I’m going to have a conversation with anyone that would like to have a conversation with me.”
Fetterman also emphasized the importance of making independent judgments about nominees rather than relying solely on public perception.
“If someone believed everything that’s been written or said about me was true, I mean, you can’t possibly know me, or I think I could know her either, just based on someone read, but I want to sit down and have a conversation, and I’m really glad that I’ve done that,” he added.
Fetterman revealed that he has already decided to vote for several nominees, including Senator Marco Rubio, Representative Stephanie, Sean Duffy, and Brooke Rollins for Agriculture Secretary.
“There’s a lot of them, I can say right now here on Fox, I’m going to vote for them,” Fetterman said.
He acknowledged that other nominees require further evaluation, but he stressed his openness to engaging with all candidates.
“We’re going to go through the process. But I’m open to hear from everyone, and I don’t know why that’s controversial,” he said.
Fetterman also reminded his Democratic colleagues of the democratic process.
“I also would like to remind everyone on the Democratic side, that’s the way democracy works. Trump won, and now they’re going to run the table, and so they get to pick those kinds of people. And you don’t have to agree with all of it, but I want to find a way to work together on a bunch of them,” he concluded.
Senator Katie Britt expressed her support for Fetterman’s willingness to engage with nominees, emphasizing the constitutional basis for the confirmation process.
“And I want to commend him on that, because that’s the way it should be,” Britt said.
She continued, “Article Two, Section Two—sitting down, asking questions, understanding the vision, understanding what they want to do for the American people, and John giving them that shot, and they have to answer his questions, but that’s the way that it should be.”
