Multiple U.S. leaders issued statements of strong support for Israel’s recent strike on Iran, following the attack that targeted Iranian leadership and nuclear infrastructure, as reported by Fox News.

Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.), Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Secretary of State Marco Rubio, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and President Donald Trump all weighed in on the escalating situation.

Former president Donald Trump speaks to an audience during a town hall meeting at Dort Financial Center in Flint, Michigan on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024.

Senator Fetterman took to X on Thursday evening to call for full U.S. backing of Israel’s military campaign.

“Our commitment to Israel must be absolute and I fully support this attack. Keep wiping out Iranian leadership and the nuclear personnel. We must provide whatever is necessary—military, intelligence, weaponry—to fully back Israel in striking Iran,” Fetterman wrote.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs reposted Fetterman’s statement to its official page.

House Speaker Mike Johnson also voiced his support for Israel on X.

“Israel IS right—and has a right—to defend itself!” Johnson posted.

His statement echoed the sentiment of several congressional Republicans who have advocated for unwavering U.S. support of Israel in the face of regional threats.

Senator Lindsey Graham issued a separate warning directed at Iran.

“People are wondering if Iran will attack American military personnel or interests throughout the region because of Israel’s attack on Iran’s leadership and nuclear facilities,” he wrote Thursday evening.

“My answer is if they do, America should have an overwhelming response, destroying all of Iran’s oil refineries and oil infrastructure, putting the ayatollah and his henchmen out of the oil business.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarified the U.S. position in a formal statement. “The U.S. was not involved in strikes against Iran,” Rubio said Thursday night. He added a warning that “Iran should not target U.S. interests or personnel.”

On Friday morning, President Donald Trump issued a statement on Truth Social, calling on Iran to come to the table for a deal while warning of consequences.

“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to ‘just do it,’ but no matter how hard they tried… they just couldn’t get it done,” Trump posted.

He continued:

“They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse! There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter… come to an end. Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire.”

The latest Israeli action and U.S. statements follow reports that Israeli forces struck multiple targets inside Iran, including facilities believed to be tied to nuclear development.

As tensions continue to rise, officials across the U.S. government have made clear that American interests will be defended and that any further escalation by Iran could trigger a forceful response.
