According to police, Jones was wanted in connection with a theft case involving unauthorized use of a debit card.
Officers entered the restaurant and moved quickly toward Jones, who was dressed in the oversized mouse costume typically worn by employees entertaining children at the chain’s arcade and restaurant.
The video begins with officers entering the location and moving toward the mascot.
One officer can be heard telling a woman nearby, “Chuck E. is a little busy,” as they positioned themselves to make the arrest.
Police then grabbed Jones’s arms and attempted to place them behind his back.
For several moments, officers struggled to secure the mascot’s arms in handcuffs, instructing Jones to stop resisting and not cause a disturbance.
Despite the awkward nature of restraining someone in a large costume, police were able to place him in handcuffs and escort him outside of the restaurant.
Once outside, officers conducted a pat down to determine what Jones was wearing underneath the mascot outfit.
He repeatedly told police that he was simply doing his job and argued that he was working when they arrived.
Jones also shouted that he needed to remove the costume, which officers permitted.
The video shows Jones taking off the mouse headpiece, shirt, and overalls, eventually cooperating with officers.

The arrest stemmed from allegations that Jones had used a woman’s debit card to make more than $100 worth of purchases without authorization.
Records show that Jones was booked on charges related to theft and illegal use of a credit or debit card.
He was later released after posting a $1,000 bond.
The arrest drew attention due to the unusual circumstances of an officer-led takedown of a costumed mascot in a public family entertainment venue.
Authorities confirmed that no children or other patrons were harmed during the incident.
The case remains under review as police continue their investigation into the debit card theft allegations.
Jones has not entered a plea in the case.
The footage of the arrest was first circulated in local Florida media outlets, underscoring both the serious nature of the alleged crime and the unexpected setting in which the arrest occurred.
