A former Democratic Senate staffer allegedly caught filming himself engaging in explicit sexual acts in a Senate hearing room has apparently fled to Australia and started an OnlyFans account.

Aidan Maese-Czeropski, who was terminated from his position in Democratic Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin’s office after the scandal broke in 2023, revealed he spent time in a psychiatric ward following the incident that made him a target of widespread public criticism.

“Mentally, I spent a little bit in the psych ward after the fact because it was just … it’s overwhelming to realize and to know that tens of millions of people literally despise you,” Maese-Czeropski told the Gay Sydney News.

The 24-year-old’s career in politics came to an abrupt end when amateur pornography showed him allegedly participating in anal sex with an unknown man in Har Senate Office Building Room 216, also known as the Judiciary Room. That story was first broken exclusively by the Daily Caller. A separate image depicted the staffer naked on the table where senators often sit during hearings.

The whole Aidan Maese-Czeropski situation, first reported by @henryrodgersdc, has been interesting to watch play out. His social media activity was well known within @SenatorCardin‘s office, and he’s posted questionable things for months, like this photo with @ERICSORENSEN. pic.twitter.com/Sf2dFCml03

Capitol Police launched an investigation into the incident but ultimately decided not to press charges against either of the men involved, finding no evidence of criminal activity despite what they called a “likely violation of congressional policy.” (RELATED: Jonathan Turley Breaks Down Possible Charges Against Senate Staffer Who Filmed ‘Obscene’ Gay Sex In Hearing Room)

After the story broke, Maese-Czeropski initially fled to South Africa. He has since settled in Sydney, Australia, where he claims to have found both happiness and financial success through his new OnlyFans venture.

“I think that one of the reasons why the scandal wasn’t as traumatic as it could’ve been is because I was very depressed working in government,” he said. “I hated my life, I hated my job, the pay was s–t.”

Despite embracing some aspects of his newfound notoriety, including adopting the nickname “Senate twink” on social media, Maese-Czeropski expressed frustration over the uneven distribution of criticism following the scandal.

“I got all these death threats, hatred. And the guy who was the top didn’t,” he remarked, referencing his unidentified partner in the leaked footage.

The incident raised questions about potential legal repercussions, with George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley noting possible charges could have included “lewd, indecent, or obscene acts,” misuse of public property and trespassing.

Ultimately, Maese-Czeropski lost his job but was not criminally charged over the incident.
