Mark Sanchez faces three misdemeanor charges stemming from a Saturday morning altercation in downtown Indianapolis that left the former NFL quarterback with multiple stab wounds, according to court documents.

Prosecutors charged Sanchez with battery resulting in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle following the incident near a hotel loading dock.

Court records state the encounter began when a truck driver was unloading fryer oil at a hotel.

Surveillance footage appears to show Sanchez approaching the vehicle, opening the driver’s side door, and conversing with the driver for several minutes.

The video then shows the driver walking toward hotel security, with Sanchez following.

Additional surveillance video depicts the men moving around the truck and exchanging words before the confrontation turns physical.

According to the records, Sanchez allegedly grabbed the driver, threw him against a wall, and shoved him to the ground.

The footage then shows Sanchez running from the area.

In a statement to police, the truck driver said the dispute started after Sanchez told him he was barred from standing in the loading dock under instructions from the hotel manager.

During their conversation, the driver said he leaned in to listen and detected the smell of alcohol on Sanchez, describing the former New York Jets quarterback as slurring his words.

The driver told officers Sanchez twice tried to climb into the truck’s cab. Feeling threatened, the driver said he used pepper spray on Sanchez.

He reported that Sanchez advanced again, prompting him to draw a knife and stab Sanchez multiple times.

Emergency responders transported Sanchez to a hospital with stab wounds to his upper torso.

He was admitted for treatment.

We’re told he’s still being treated at the hospital for his injuries.

Authorities did not immediately release additional medical details, and no information was provided on when he might be discharged.

Prosecutors also sought and obtained a no-contact order in the case.

The order prohibits Sanchez from having any contact with the driver and bars him from possessing firearms, deadly weapons, or ammunition while the case is pending.

The filing indicates the order will remain in effect for the duration of the proceedings unless modified by the court.

A lot of people owe Indianapolis an apology for all the crap they have been spewing.

According to the charging documents, obtained by TMZ, investigators reviewed surveillance video from the hotel area and took statements from involved parties.

The records reference footage showing the approach to the truck, the brief pursuit toward security personnel, and the struggle near the vehicle. The documents do not indicate that any additional arrests were made at the scene.

The public intoxication count alleges Sanchez was in a public place under the influence of alcohol.

The unlawful entry of a motor vehicle charge relates to the claim that he opened the truck’s door and attempted to enter the cab without permission.

The battery resulting in injury charge is tied to the allegations that he grabbed the driver and forced him against a wall and onto the ground.

An initial hearing date had not been included in the information released with the filings.

It was not immediately clear whether Sanchez had retained counsel to respond to the charges, and no formal plea was listed in the available court records.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office did not provide comment on potential additional evidence or whether further charges might be considered.

Authorities said the investigation remains active. Hotel security personnel were asked to preserve relevant surveillance footage, and detectives documented the scene around the loading dock area.

Officials did not release the name of the truck driver in the records summarized in the filings.

If convicted, misdemeanor penalties in Indiana can include fines and potential jail time, depending on the class and any prior record.

The court documents provided do not list sentencing recommendations and note that all counts are allegations at this stage.

Further updates are expected as the case moves through initial hearings and pretrial procedures in Marion County.
