An illegal alien from Honduras has been charged with murder after allegedly pushing two men onto subway tracks in New York City, resulting in the death of an 83-year-old Air Force veteran, according to authorities.

The victim, identified as Richard Williams, died after suffering head injuries when he was unable to get up after being shoved onto the tracks. The suspect, Bairon Posada-Hernandez, 34, is now facing second-degree murder charges following the incident.

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer introduced the case during a segment, outlining the charges and the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.

“Illegal immigrant now charged with murder, allegedly shoving two men onto the New York City subway tracks, and one of the victims, an 83-year-old veteran who has since died from his injuries. Alexis McAdams, running down the story here in New York, awful stuff. Alexis, good morning,” Hemmer said.

Correspondent Alexis McAdams reported from New York City, providing details about the victim and the events leading up to his death.

“Bill, good morning. It’s terrible, and then when you see his photo, just breaks your heart. He’s an Air Force veteran. Okay? He served our country and even survived cancer, according to his family. But after all of that, the 83 year old was murdered at a New York City subway stop by a guy DHS says was in the country illegally,” McAdams said.

Williams, described by McAdams as a grandfather and father, was riding the subway when the incident occurred.

Police say Hernandez pushed two men onto the tracks at a station on the Upper East Side earlier this month.

“This is who I’m talking about, Richard Williams. He was a grandpa. He was a dad. He was just trying to take a quick subway ride in New York City, but he was shoved onto the tracks, according to police, and this is the man police say is responsible. 34 year old Byron Hernandez,” McAdams said.

Authorities said one of the victims was able to get back up after being pushed, but Williams fell, struck his head, and was unable to stand.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

“He’s now looking at murder charges here in New York City. Earlier this month, police say he was at a subway stop on New York City’s Upper East Side, so in a pretty normal area of town not far from midtown, he shoved two men under the tracks. One man was able to get up and recover, but Richard Williams is 83 he falls down. He hits his head. He can’t get up. He’s rushed to the local hospital, and he later died,” McAdams said.

Federal authorities say Hernandez has an extensive criminal record. According to McAdams, officials reported that Hernandez has 15 prior charges, including assault, domestic violence, drug offenses, and weapons violations.

“DHS says Hernandez has a long rap sheet. I’m talking a lot of charges, fifteen. Fifteen prior charges. We’re talking assault, domestic violence and drug and weapons charges for this man, the feds say he’s been deported four times, but he just came right back into the country,” McAdams said.

The Department of Homeland Security is now urging New York City officials to ensure Hernandez remains in custody.

Authorities described him as a repeat offender with a history of criminal behavior.

“He’s facing a long list of charges, including second degree murder, which was upgraded after the man died. DHS calling on New York City to keep him behind bars. They say Bairon Posada-Hernandez is a serial criminal, a four time deported illegal alien from Honduras who should have never been able to walk our streets and harm innocent Americans,” McAdams said.
