The Palisades Fire has reignited public fury over California’s leadership, with celebrities leading the charge against Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
As Fox News reported, the blaze, fueled by fierce Santa Ana winds, erupted Tuesday morning in the Santa Monica Mountains and quickly escalated from 200 acres to nearly 3,000 by sunset, leaving destruction and frustration in its wake.
Sarah Michelle Gellar didn’t mince words, taking to Instagram to criticize the city’s evacuation response. “City of LA, you want everyone to evacuate, yet you have complete gridlock and not one traffic cop on the roads helping,” Gellar posted, tagging Mayor Bass and the City of Los Angeles.

Other public figures voiced their outrage, spotlighting systemic failures.
Valentin Chmerkovskiy, a former “Dancing with the Stars” pro, blasted the lack of water pressure for firefighters.
“5th largest economy on the planet. Firefighters didn’t have enough water pressure to do their jobs?! Are you joking me?! The taxes we pay for 3rd world infrastructure is unbelievable?!”
Model Amber Rose echoed these concerns, lamenting on Instagram:
“How TF is there low water pressure in Los Angeles? The fire hydrants barely work here. This is insane!”
Actress Sara Foster took to X (formerly Twitter) with an even sharper critique.
“We pay the highest taxes in California. Our fire hydrants were empty. Our vegetation was overgrown, brush not cleared. Our reservoirs were emptied by our governor because tribal leaders wanted to save fish. Our fire department budget was cut by our mayor. But thank god drug addicts are getting their drug kits. @MayorOfLA@GavinNewsom RESIGN. Your far left policies have ruined our state. And also our party.”

Her comments gained traction, with Candace Cameron Bure sharing them and expressing concerns about the long-term impact on families and businesses.
Actor James Woods, who tragically lost his home in the fire, placed blame squarely on liberal leadership. “This fire is not from climate change,” Woods asserted on X. “It’s because liberal idiots like you elect liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass.”
This fire is not from “climate change,” you ignorant asshole. It’s because liberal idiots like you elect liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass. One doesn’t understand the first thing about fire management and the other can’t fill the water reservoirs. #INSTABLOCK https://t.co/u49lWSmKri

He criticized their failure to manage fire risks and maintain infrastructure.
Fitness trainer Jillian Michaels, recalling her loss in the 2018 Woolsey Fire, slammed the leadership for negligence.
“The mayor is apparently in Ghana. The fire department’s budget was apparently cut by 17 mil. And someone made the decision to not refill some of the reservoirs – now some fire hydrants are dry. Leadership in California is beyond negligent. This is completely unacceptable.”
I lost a home in the 2018 Woolley fire. Was in Cali for New Years this year and podcasts – just evacuated my mom from her California home. The mayor is apparently in Ghana. The fire departments budget was apparently cut by 17 mil. And someone made the decision to not refill some…

She also pointed out that Newsom admitted knowing the risks days prior but delayed calling in the National Guard.
California governor @GavinNewsom issues a press release admitting they knew about the insane fire risk this past Sunday because he was propositioning fire engines. And yet, he just called in the national guard a few hours ago. Pacific Palisades ran out of water at 3am. I’m so…

While California’s leadership faced heavy criticism, some individuals stepped up. Actor Steve Guttenberg helped clear abandoned cars blocking fire trucks on Sunset Boulevard. “It’s like Zombieland out here,” Guttenberg remarked, urging evacuees to leave keys in their cars to aid firefighters.

Guttenberg described the fire as “the biggest we’ve ever seen in the Palisades,” emphasizing the importance of swift evacuations.
Dean Cain, speaking on Fox & Friends, blamed California Democrats for a “perfect storm” of mismanagement.
Meanwhile, Zachary Levi questioned on Jesse Watters Primetime whether the mismanagement had “criminal intentionality” behind it.
