Ghislaine Maxwell is expected to meet with federal officials this week to present what her legal team claims is “material new evidence” not available during her 2021 trial.

According to her brother Ian Maxwell, the new material could have had a “significant impact” on the trial’s outcome.

Maxwell, 63, was convicted in 2021 and sentenced to 20 years in prison for recruiting women and underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse.

She did not testify in her own defense and never gave her version of events to federal prosecutors before her conviction.

“She will be putting before that court material new evidence that was not available to the defense at her 2021 trial, which would have had a significant impact on its outcome,” Ian Maxwell said in an email to the New York Post.

Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving her sentence at FCI Tallahassee in Florida.

She is among the few people still alive who had direct involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s personal and professional affairs.

Epstein died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Virginia Giuffre, a high-profile accuser of both Maxwell and Epstein, previously suggested Maxwell possessed damaging information about powerful individuals.

“If she squeals on some of the people that she has videos on they won’t be happy,” Giuffre told CBS News’ Gayle King in 2020.

Giuffre, who died by suicide in April, was among the first to publicly accuse Epstein and Maxwell of abuse and claimed in court filings to have been trafficked to several high-profile men, including Britain’s Prince Andrew and “a president with a Spanish accent.”

In past statements and depositions, Giuffre described Maxwell as the primary organizer and facilitator of Epstein’s operations.

“Epstein was Pinocchio and she was Geppetto,” she said.

Spencer Kuvin, a Florida attorney who represented some of Epstein’s earliest victims, echoed the claim.

“Ghislaine would coordinate to get the girls for Jeffrey and his friends, and she would also make sure that his homes around the world were ready to receive him. She knows all the johns and she knows all of the victims, because she did all the dirty work,” Kuvin said.

Court records and past testimony suggest Maxwell played a central role in managing Epstein’s properties and logistics.

Cimberly Espinosa, who worked for Maxwell as a secretary in the early 2000s, testified at the 2021 trial that Maxwell handled various projects, including Epstein’s private island in the Virgin Islands.

Espinosa described Maxwell as Epstein’s “estate manager” and said she never witnessed illegal behavior during her time working for her.

Maxwell has historically been reluctant to speak publicly.

In a 2016 deposition related to a defamation suit brought by Giuffre, she was criticized for vague and evasive answers.

When asked about sex toys, she responded, “I need you to define a sex toy.”

Maxwell has also denied that Prince Andrew ever met Giuffre, despite a widely circulated photo showing the three together.

Teresa Helm, another accuser, expressed skepticism about Maxwell’s current cooperation.

Helm, who was recruited by Maxwell in 2002, said Maxwell invited her to New York without mentioning Epstein. Helm said she was assaulted by Epstein shortly after arriving and left immediately for Los Angeles.

“She was crafty, successful and very articulate, and I think she’s just going to make a deal to get released,” Helm said.

Helm now works as survivor services coordinator for the National Center on Sexual Exploitation in Washington, D.C.

“I can’t imagine that we are going to have to deal with another sweetheart deal that results in Ghislaine Maxwell getting released from prison,” Helm added.

“That would be tragic for all the women who survived.”

Helm’s comments refer to the 2007 plea deal Epstein received, under which he pleaded guilty to two felony prostitution-related charges and served 13 months in jail.

That agreement allowed Epstein to register as a sex offender, but he was permitted to leave jail during the day and later resumed international travel.

Maxwell’s attorneys have argued she was unfairly prosecuted and should have been shielded by the same non-prosecution agreement Epstein received in 2007.

On Wednesday, a federal judge in Florida denied a motion to unseal grand jury transcripts from Epstein’s 2005 and 2007 investigations.

Maxwell is scheduled to meet with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and is also expected to participate in a deposition scheduled for August 11.
