This is actually ‘breaking news,’ as it’s happening as I’m writing it. But it’s so much the same old song and dance routine we seen a million times before that it’s hardly worth a screaming headline.

Everyone will just yawn and ask, ‘Yeah, and?’

I could have cut and pasted this a hundred times over already with these Islamic lunatics.

But anyway, to today’s episode in ‘Trying to Talk to Mullahs,’ all I can figure is that the turban-wrapped fanatics must have been in the head during the part Saturday where Trump said they had ’48 hours’ and he wasn’t talking about Eddie Murphy.

“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!” – President DONALD J. TRUMP pic.twitter.com/cVb7leFmAv

In an interesting twist, this ceasefire plan had been worked out independently by the Pakistanis and then sent off to the US and Iran, with the understanding it would be signed today. Once signed, it would mark the beginning of a 45-day breathing space to work out the nitty-gritty details.

Hey. Gotta start somewhere, right?

…A framework to end hostilities has been put together by Pakistan and exchanged with Iran and the U.S. overnight, the source said, outlining a two-tier approach with an immediate ceasefire followed by a comprehensive agreement.

…”All elements need to be agreed today,” the source said, adding the initial understanding would be structured as a memorandum of understanding finalised electronically through Pakistan, the sole communication channel in the talks.

Axios first reported on Sunday that the United States, Iran and regional mediators were discussing a potential 45-day ceasefire as part of a two-phase deal that could lead to a permanent end to the war, citing U.S., Israeli and regional sources.

The source told Reuters Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has been in contact “all night long” with U.S. Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

Under the proposal, a ceasefire would take effect immediately, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, with 15–20 days to finalise a broader settlement. The deal, tentatively dubbed the “Islamabad Accord,” would include a regional framework for the strait, with final in-person talks in Islamabad.

There would still be significant penalties and restrictions on the Iranians attached to this plan.

…The final agreement is expected to include Iranian commitments not to pursue nuclear weapons in exchange for sanctions relief and the release of frozen assets, the source said.

Two Pakistani sources said Iran has yet to commit despite intensified civilian and military outreach.

“Iran has not responded yet,” one source said, adding proposals backed by Pakistan, China and the United States for a temporary ceasefire have drawn no commitment so far.

But ‘somewhere’ has always been ‘nowhere’ the Iranians had any intentions of being if they hadn’t had a hand in manipulating every detail of getting there.

It seems they’ve got issues with these ceasefire terms – don’t they always – and have countered with a list of demands, which is something they always seem to have, as well.

The answer came back today – a resounding ‘no’ – and was just as churlish, arrogant, and unyielding as the regime has ever been.

For starters, the Iranians are demanding the end of all hostile action against them, the lifting of all sanctions, and they want to be paid reparations.

…Iran’s 10-point demand list includes: an end to all conflict in the region, a “𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘭” for the Strait of Hormuz, the 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, and — most remarkably — 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 for what the U.S. and Israel have destroyed. The reporter on the ground called it what it is: “𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴”.

Read that again. A regime that has funded H-m-s, H-z-b, and the Houthis for four decades — that has held the Strait of Hormuz hostage since 1984 — that has launched 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 and targeted Gulf allies with drones — is demanding the United States 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 the military infrastructure used to do all of it.

Iran’s chief negotiator in Cairo, Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour, told the AP: “𝘞𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦. 𝘞𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯”. A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐳 as part of any temporary deal and “𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦”.

As the reporter noted: “𝘐’𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯”. That’s the understatement of the war. The U.S. has destroyed 𝟏𝟑,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬. Their senior leadership has been decapitated. Their navy is gone. Their IRGC intelligence chief was k∗lled overnight. And they’re issuing demands like they’re the ones with leverage.

Trump’s deadline expires tonight. He’s promised “𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘦” if no deal materializes. Iran just told him: no deal.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬.

The regime has been allowed to operate in an indulged, delusional bubble for so long that I do not believe they are capable of realizing the good times are now over.

Sanctions lifted, reparations paid, control over key trade routes? Iran isn’t negotiating, it’s making demands like it won the war

— Grey Sheep (@_kingmiichael) April 6, 2026

Trump said the proposal ‘wasn’t good enough‘ (aka close but no cigar) for him to agree to it, but that was before the blustering Iranian response to the overture was received. Afterward, the president simply reminded the intransigent and pugnacious religious fanatics that the clock was ticking.

US President Donald Trump called a proposal for a 45-day ceasefire with Iran a “significant step” but said it is “not good enough.”

Trump said he’s the only person who can determine if there’s a ceasefire in the Iran war.

The US president’s comments come as Iran rejected the proposal, saying a pause in fighting would allow adversaries to prepare for the continuation of the conflict. According to Iranian state-run media, Tehran’s 10-clause response calls for a permanent end to the war “in line with Iran’s considerations.”

Meanwhile, Trump doubled-down on threats against Iran as his Tuesday deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz looms.

TICK TICK TICK

Trey Yingst points out that the only thing the Iranians have left for leverage is the Strait of Hormuz, and every day that they stall, the United States and Israel chip away more and more of what remains.

The Iranians, Axios reported before this news broke, were already taking an extremely hard line and vowing that, while Hormuz might reopen, it would never ‘be the same’ for the United States and Israel.

I would venture a pretty safe guess that the reverse is true.

…What to watch: A source with direct knowledge said the the mediators are highly concerned that the Iranian retaliation for a U.S.-Israeli strike on the country’s energy infrastructure would be destructive for Gulf countries’ oil and water facilities.

  • The mediators told the Iranian officials there is no time for further negotiation tactics and stressed the next 48 hours are the last opportunity for them to reach a deal and prevent massive destruction for the country.
  • The Iranian officials, at least in public, are still taking an extremely hard line and rejecting any concessions. The IRGC navy said Sunday the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will “never return” to what it was before the war, especially for the U.S. and Israel.

At this point, nothing is ever going to be the same for the Iranian regime again, if such a regime emerges from this in any form.

BREAKING: Trump is an insane madman!

“We are obliterating their country. And I hate to do it but we are obliterating. And they just don’t want to say ‘Uncle.’ They don’t want to cry, as the expression goes, ‘Uncle.’ But they will, and if they don’t, they will have no bridges,… pic.twitter.com/e3D2DtrG2N

WE ARE OBLITERATING THEIR COUNTRY

Guaranteed even more so if they keep flipping a maniacal bird at the United States for the next twenty-four hours, give or take a couple of minutes.

How do you say ‘Uncle‘ in Farsi?
