Senator JD Vance didn’t mince words when he addressed the controversy surrounding Vice President Kamala Harris and her criticism of Donald Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery.
During a campaign stop in Erie, Pennsylvania, the Republican vice-presidential nominee made it clear that Harris “can go to hell” if she wants to use the visit as a political weapon against Trump, as reported by the New York Post.

The confrontation began when a Trump campaign team member reportedly clashed with a cemetery official over filming and photographing at Arlington’s Section 60, the resting place for military personnel who lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The media, predictably, pounced on the story, eager to spin it into an attack on Trump. However, Vance wasn’t having any of it.
Speaking at the rally, Vance expressed his frustration with Harris, accusing her of ignoring the real issue—the tragic loss of 13 brave American servicemembers during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. “Three years ago, 13 innocent Americans died because Kamala Harris refused to do her job. And there hasn’t been a single investigation or firing,” Vance emphasized, directing the blame squarely at Harris.
He didn’t stop there. Vance criticized Harris for being “asleep at the wheel” and failing to hold anyone accountable for the botched withdrawal, all while attacking Trump for honoring those who died. His message to Harris was sharp and unequivocal: “She can go to hell.”
Vance also addressed the media’s portrayal of the Arlington incident, dismissing it as a manufactured story. According to him, the disagreement at the cemetery was a minor issue blown out of proportion.
He emphasized that the Gold Star families, who had invited Trump to the ceremony, fully supported his presence and that the incident did not dishonor the fallen servicemembers.
Meanwhile, the Trump team maintained that the cemetery official who confronted them was “suffering from a mental health episode” and denied any physical altercation. Darin Hoover, the father of Marine Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, backed up the campaign’s version of events, stating that the Arlington staff was “lying” and that Trump’s presence was at the request of the families, who felt abandoned by the current administration.
At the rally, Vance’s military background resonated with the crowd. Supporters like Gene Seip, a business owner, and Chris Knight, a school cook, praised Vance for his service and his connection with veterans. Vance’s firm stance and his military experience are seen as significant assets to the Republican ticket as the campaign progresses.
