Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson is launching a probe into former President Joe Biden’s health while he was in office, Axios reported.
Johnson’s probe arrives on the heels of Biden’s announcement that he has aggressive metastatic prostate cancer, as well as reports alleging that the White House attempted to cover up his declining health while he was president. The senator told Axios he plans to send letters requesting information on Biden’s health to “a couple dozen people” whom he believes had “direct contact” with the former president, as soon as Wednesday evening. “We have to. I mean, who was running the government,” Johnson told the outlet on Wednesday.
Johnson’s investigation into Biden is not the first to be launched by lawmakers in Congress. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on May 16 announced an investigation into Biden allegedly using auto pen to sign documents during his presidency.
The Committee’s Chairman, Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, said legacy media “gaslit” the American people into thinking Biden could properly and healthily lead the nation.
“The American people deserve to know who was actually calling the shots in the Biden White House, because it wasn’t Joe Biden. His mental decline was obvious to anyone paying attention,” Comer said. “But instead of being honest, the Biden Administration, Democrats in Congress, and the legacy media lied and covered it up. They gaslit the American people while propping up a man who was unfit to lead. This is one of the greatest scandals of our generation and Americans are demanding answers.”
