Great Moments in Progressivism: Lefty in SUV Terrorizes Seattle Woman for Driving an EV

Oh, the irony. And in progressive Seattle, no less! 

Thanks to the quick-thinking decision of a driver in the Pacific Northwest, the man who covered his face while terrorizing this woman for driving a Tesla should be rather easy to find. And perhaps he can answer why he feels justified in lecturing others abut vehicle choices when he drives a car that makes Gaia cry and Greta Thunberg snarl:

A mother says she was harassed and cut off by another driver for driving a Tesla, an incident she described as terrifying and unprovoked. The confrontation, which was caught on video, occurred while she was on her way to a doctor’s appointment in Lynnwood Wednesday morning.

Leigh, who has driven a Tesla for the past two years, said she first noticed the aggressive driver honking behind her as she approached a red light.

“Thankfully, I was by myself,” Leigh said. “When I made a left turn, they followed me and cut around me.”

According to Leigh, the situation escalated when a white SUV cut her off and stopped in the middle of the road. The driver then got out, approached her vehicle, and began berating her.

Leigh also took a moment to note the progressive hypocrisy on display:

Leigh says she bought the car about two years ago. Not only was it convenient for her family, but they chose to drive Teslas because they’d like to protect the environment.

“Being in Seattle, climate’s important, our footprint’s important. This seemed like the right move for our very busy family,” Leigh said. “We drive a lot, and it saves us on gas now it feels like a huge risk, it’s scary.”

I bet it does, at least in deep-blue areas of the country. Will this incident of road-rage terrorism get investigated by police? This doesn’t appear to cross over into federal jurisdiction, so Leigh will have to report this to local police and prosecutors in Seattle. Given their absolutely supine positioning when it comes to progressive terrorists in public demonstrations over the last few years, Leigh probably shouldn’t expect too much assistance, even with the license plate clearly visible in the video.

Seriously — why did the driver even bother with the mask and camo? If he didn’t think there was video, what would be the point? And if the perp did think the woman was getting video of the incident, didn’t he stop to think about the fact that his car will identify him? Either the man is an idiot or he knows that police in the Seattle area won’t bother to investigate a progressive for terrorizing the populace. Or both.

Or, who knows? Maybe Seattle-area law enforcement will surprise us. The publicity around this incident will certainly embarrass them if there isn’t some effort to provide a resolution to Leigh. More rationally, even progressive administrations have to ensure that their citizenry can drive on the roads without getting stopped by road-ragers on a mission to punish Wrongthink in traffic. 

If Leigh doesn’t get some satisfaction soon, then she should just release the unedited video with the license plate information unblurred. If police don’t want to pay attention to road terrorists, then others can name and shame the perp. Especially for driving an SUV, of all choices! Doesn’t he know that Greta has The Sadz? What kind of militant progressive is he, anyway?

Finally, I know a number of people who are reconsidering their previous declinination to purchase Teslas or other EVs in light of these attacks. They seem much more open to the idea as a way of rallying support for Elon Musk and other Tesla owners under attack. For those reconsidering Teslas, I’d bet the deals right now could be pretty sweet. We take car trips every year, so that choice is still not very practical for us, and I love my Subaru Ascent too much to switch anyway. But I am seriously considering adding a dash-cam these days, in case the insanity gets to central Texas or I drive into insane areas like these.
