WHO Director Tedros is fuming over Trump’s withdrawal, claiming it left the organization on the verge of collapse and in financial turmoil.

A month ago, our newly inaugurated president declared he was withdrawing the United States from the totally corrupt and inept World Health Organization. Progressive hearts shrank three sizes that day all over the world at the announcement, predicting that gloom, doom, and death were surely to follow.

Even then, strangely enough, initial reactions were more concerned with the WHO budget than the what or why. And, of course, Trump’s REVENGE.

President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO) will leave a gaping hole in the budget of the Geneva-based health agency. The US departure will also endanger global health, including that of the American people, say experts.

Freshly inaugurated in the White House, Donald Trump stares at the folder handed to him by an assistant. “What’s this one?” he asks. “Withdrawing from the World Health Organization, sir.” “Oh, that’s a big one,” the US president declares. Using a big black marker, Trump signs the executive order, but not before repeating his frequent complaint that China does not contribute enough to the UN agency ($203 million (CHF182 million) compared to $988 million from the US).

The US president has thus taken revenge on the organisation responsible for setting global health standards and monitoring health threats, which he has accused of inefficiency and being too ‘China-centric’. This marks the second time Trump has ordered the US be pulled out of the WHO. During his first term he criticised how the international organisation handled the Covid-19 pandemic and in July 2020 began the US withdrawal. President Joe Biden later reversed that decision.

The latest US pull-out will have significant consequences both for WHO programmes and for global health governance, increasing the risk of infectious disease resurgence and leaving the world more vulnerable to future pandemics.

This should come as no shock to anyone who has a whisper of memory because it’s really filed under ‘unfinished business.’ Trump did this once already, in 2020, but then that election thing with 81MLOL votes and the shadow presidency happened.

The Trump administration submitted a notice of withdrawal from the World Health Organization to the United Nations secretary-general, a senior administration official told Fox News on Tuesday, after President Trump for weeks had blasted the WHO’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and what he called its pro-China bias.

The White House also notified congressional lawmakers Tuesday of the official removal, effective July 2021.

“Congress received notification that POTUS officially withdrew the U.S. from the @WHO in the midst of a pandemic,” Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., tweeted.

He also did for the very reason he’s finishing it up now, only he’s had four additional years on the sideline to watch WHO head and lying Chinese tool Tedros operate with impunity.

…Trump first announced that the U.S. would back away from the organization in late-May. “Because they have failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms, we will be today terminating our relationship with the World Health Organization and redirecting those funds to other worldwide and deserving urgent global public health needs,” Trump told reporters at a Rose Garden event.

“The world is now suffering as a result of the misfeasance of the Chinese government,” Trump added.

…The U.S. repeatedly raised concerns about WHO officials’  praise of Chinese “transparency,”  its ignoring of warnings about the virus from Taiwan, and its repetition of Chinese claims that COVID-19 could not be spread from person-to-person. Trump has also pointed to opposition from WHO officials to his decision to place a travel ban on China in the initial days of the crisis.

…According to multiple reports, the revisions were made on the WHO website on June 29, adding fuel to the fire that the Chinese leadership long purported to cover up COVID-19 and the WHO assisted them in doing so.

When Trump made his move in 2020, our tab for the WHO was $450M. It’s almost a billion now and we are, by far, the largest check they get each year.

But you’ll never guess who writes the second largest, and if there was ever another reason to yank the country out of that organization, it would be this.

Who does y’all think has enough excess cash to pony up almost $600M+ to keep Tedros and company afloat?

You most of Europe is broke – maybe one of the Arab oil states? We’ve already established that China’s a slacker.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is the second largest source of funds for the WHO. 

The third funding source is GAVI – the Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunizations.

Oh, that’s not suspicious or unsettling at all for a United Nations chartered organization whose membership is bound by treaty obligations.

But it sure does explain recent moves by the WHO – like, taking over the world.

And I do mean that literally.

…The briefing paper Dr. Bell developed for his presentation should chill the heart of every citizen who loves their freedom and their country. What Tedros and his minions are proposing is really breathtaking in scope, even without remembering the squandered trust the WHO had from the very beginning. Tedros is a tool of both China and his own ego, He should have lost his schweet gig after botching the COVID response so horrifically and yet? Here is is, negotiating basically dictatorial powers for himself and his organization.

Look at the language! “FORCIBLY quarantine,” “REQUIRE citizens,” “medically examine, inject or otherwise medicate citizens” – this is not the U.S. government attempting this and I didn’t elect these people. It’s a foreign unelected body of certifiably, already proven incompetent Mengele wanna-bes.

There’s language to track health passports – vaccinations and such, which means, tracking you.

The Biden administration couldn’t wait to sacrifice our national autonomy and get behind it.

Thank God again for November 5th, 2024.

Luckily, the United States is the only signatory who made sure we had a get-out-of-jail-free card included when we signed, unlike Argentina, Hungary, and Italy, who are all contemplating exiting Tedros’s corrupt little kingdom.

…Upon joining, they signed a constitution that lays out the organisation’s role and responsibilities, for example helping governments improve their health services and trying to eradicate diseases.

That document, which is an international treaty, has no clause allowing for withdrawal. Solomon said that’s because its drafters viewed global health as a critical issue that should be handled in as inclusive a way as possible.

“The idea in the field of public health was for the WHO to be as universal as possible,” Stéphanie Dagron, an international law professor focused on global health at the University of Geneva, told Euronews Health.

When the US joined in 1948, however, it reserved the right to exit the WHO – a stipulation other countries agreed to but did not negotiate for themselves.

And why are we underwriting healthcare literally for the world?

If the US snapping the purse shut is such a drastic shock to a GLOBAL health organization, maybe they need to rethink their financing structure.

If the US pulling out causes its collapse, maybe it should have been more accurately named the,
‘United States Health Organization’?
