Haitian Illegal Bludgeons Mother of Two to Death with Hammer in Broad Daylight [WATCH]

A Haitian national who had been released into the United States under federal immigration policies is facing murder charges in connection with a fatal attack on a Florida woman outside a gas station in Fort Myers.

Rolbert Jaochin, 40, is accused of killing a 51-year-old woman during an early morning incident at a Chevron gas station around 7:20 a.m. Friday, according to court records.

Authorities said the woman was discovered by first responders in the parking lot outside the convenience store, not breathing and lying in a pool of blood near her head. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:27 a.m.

According to investigators, Jaochin had been seen outside the store prior to the attack holding a mallet in one hand and a knife in the other.

Witnesses told police that he began by striking the windshield of a black SUV before turning his attention to the victim.

The woman had reportedly stepped outside from the store when the attack occurred.

A witness told police that Jaochin struck her in the head, causing her to fall to the ground.

Authorities allege he continued to hit her multiple times after she was on the ground.

Witnesses described the weapon used as a metal mallet with a blue rubber handle.

Police said the victim was unarmed and did not pose a threat, noting she had her arms at her side at the time of the attack.

Her identity has not been publicly released.

According to Gulf Coast News, she worked at the gas station and was the mother of two teenage daughters.

Surveillance footage released by officials shows a man identified as Jaochin walking around the area wearing a yellow graphic T-shirt and shorts prior to the incident.

Investigators said several officers recognized Jaochin from prior encounters, which assisted in identifying him as the suspect.

He was later located walking in the area near Mango Street, where officers detained him and transported him to the police station.

According to court records, Jaochin was read his rights through a Creole interpreter and later confessed to the killing. No motive has been released.

Jaochin has been charged with homicide (murder dangerous depraved without premeditation) and criminal mischief involving property damage over $1,000.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Federal officials confirmed that Jaochin had entered the United States in August 2022 and was released into the country under immigration policies that granted him Temporary Protected Status.

Although he had previously been issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge, he remained in the United States under that designation, which expired in 2024.

Following his arrest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Jaochin.

The Department of Homeland Security said he will be subject to deportation regardless of the outcome of the criminal case.

DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis commented on the case, stating, “This illegal alien barbarically hit this woman in the head multiple times with a hammer. This heinous murderer was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. Not only did the Biden administration release him into the country, but they then gave him Temporary Protected Status. Their reckless immigration policies cost this woman her life.”

Bis also addressed the law enforcement response following the incident.

“The arrest of this criminal is an example of how ICE and local authorities can work together to swiftly bring criminals to justice and make our communities safer,” she said.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to process evidence and prepare for court proceedings.
