Hanson Explains How Trump Shattered the Left’s Golden Boy [WATCH]

Victor Davis Hanson said left-wing figures who publicly clash with President Donald Trump routinely damage their own credibility, arguing that Trump understands how to provoke opponents into emotional responses that ultimately work against them.

Hanson said Trump’s political strength lies in his ability to trigger intense reactions from critics who already harbor deep animosity toward him.

“Anybody who gets in an argument with Donald Trump on the left loses,” Hanson said.

“Because what happens is he knows that they hate him so much that he just has to push one or two button, oh, where’s that button? Where’s the Trump derangement button? I’ll push it.”

Hanson pointed to media figures and politicians he said have suffered consequences after engaging Trump publicly.

He cited MSNBC host Nicole Wallace as an example.

“He, Trump, will say, Oh, Nicole Wallace will be canceled. She’s got terrible ratings. And then she’s, you know, she’s off to the races at Donald Trump,” Hanson said.

He also referenced former Rep. Liz Cheney, saying her current political standing illustrates the cost of personal political vendettas against Trump.

“Don’t they understand if they look at Liz Cheney, her status right now, what happens when you go into a personal vendetta against Trump?” Hanson said.

Hanson further cited Rep. Adam Schiff, arguing that years of focusing on Trump have left Schiff politically vulnerable.

“Or if you look at Adam Schiff, what he’s looking at right now, for 10 years, all he could say is he hates Trump,” Hanson said.

Hanson went on to list allegations he said Schiff now faces, including claims related to classified information leaks, impeachment actions, and financial disclosures.

“And now he’s facing serious charges that may lead to indictments that he leaked classified information, that he kind of staged the impeachment, that he lied about his relationship with the whistleblower, Ciaramella and Vindman, and he may or may not have listed one home as a principal residence, or two homes, so he may have some exposure for tax fraud, and yet he just melted down,” Hanson said.

Hanson also criticized former President Barack Obama, arguing that his continued hostility toward Trump diminished his public stature.

“And even Barack Obama, you know, he really hated Trump,” Hanson said.

Hanson claimed Obama’s opposition to Trump escalated into actions he characterized as politically motivated.

“Now we’ve got plenty of evidence that he basically told the CIA, I don’t like what I’m seeing. These are two objective, empirical assessments that Donald Trump did not collude with the Russians,” Hanson said.

Hanson alleged that Obama sought to undermine Trump’s transition and presidency after the 2016 election.

“The hour is getting late. We failed to stop him during the election with Russian collusion hoax. Now I want to sabotage his transition and presidency by getting a new assessment from you guys,” Hanson said, describing what he portrayed as internal pressure on intelligence agencies.

“So you reject what your field men have found, and you concoct the idea that he is a Russian agent provocateur asset, so then we can go after him, and that’s what Obama’s reduced to.”

Hanson said the result has been a dramatic decline in Obama’s public image. “He broke Obama,” Hanson said, adding that Obama’s recent campaign appearances lacked substance.

“Now, when Obama goes out on the campaign trail, as he did in 2024 it’s pathetic, you know?”

Hanson described what he portrayed as a contrast between Obama’s rhetoric and lifestyle.

“He just, he just gets in his private jet, and he flies from his whole beach home in Hawaii or Martha’s Vineyard or Kalorama,” Hanson said. He added that Obama then lectures voters before returning to a life of luxury.

“Which Michelle, which mansion Should we go to? We got four of them,” Hanson said.
