Harris Team Enforces Strict Rules for Reporters at Walz Event [WATCH]

During a campaign stop in Pennsylvania, reporters found themselves shut out from asking questions to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

A local journalist in Lancaster County exposed how the Democratic vice-presidential candidate dodged the press during his visit, raising eyebrows over the lack of transparency.

Gov. Walz, accompanied by his daughter, made an appearance at the Lancaster County Democratic Committee field office as part of his ongoing campaign efforts. The event was intended to energize local volunteers, but for the media, it was anything but open.

Alyssa Kratz, a reporter for WPMT FOX43, shared her frustration in a Facebook post, revealing the tight restrictions placed on the press.

“Gov. Tim Walz spoke to people calling into the Lancaster County Democratic Committee field office. His daughter Hope was with him. He addressed supporters here for about six or seven minutes. Walz is not taking questions from the media while here. We were also not allowed to place microphones near Gov. Walz while he was speaking,” Kratz wrote.

She went on to describe the lack of access further: “One reporter tried shouting a question and we were told to ‘not disrupt the program.’”

“What’s your administration going to do about lowering prices? Can you answer the question, please!?”

Later, in comments to Fox News Digital, Kratz confirmed the press was repeatedly denied the chance to ask Walz any questions. “We asked as a group multiple times if Gov. Walz could speak by the podium and we could put our microphones there, but we were denied,” she explained.

Another reporter from a local NBC affiliate even attempted to shout a question after Walz finished speaking, only to be told not to disturb his interactions with volunteers.

This is not the first time Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, have ducked the press. Since the campaign kicked off in July, both have largely avoided taking questions.

The pair recently gave their first official interview, but it was a pre-taped segment with CNN’s Dana Bash.

Harris came under heavy criticism following the interview, with many questioning why she needed Walz by her side to handle basic media questions. Despite being on the campaign trail for over six weeks, Harris has yet to hold a formal press conference.

With such restricted media access, many are left scratching their heads, wondering what exactly Harris and Walz are trying to dodge. For a party that loves to preach about transparency and openness, these actions are starting to feel more like a calculated effort to keep the public in the dark. If everything is above board, why the need for such tight control? Their actions are beginning to paint a very different picture than the one they like to project.
