House Dem: I’m Deeply Sexually Attracted to a Real Leader!

I’m pretty sure that’s what Rep. Maxine Dexter (D-OR) told a crowd yesterday. After all, didn’t Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez explain away criticism of her by insisting that conservative men just wanted to date her? Dexter made it even more explicit!

And when I say “explicit,” I mean … well … y’know ….

Hey, all the signs are there! The nervous laughter, the subconscious preening, the head tilt — she’s totally into him! And why shouldn’t she be? Dexter just watched the last few years with a senile placeholder in the Oval Office rather than someone who could take charge, and clearly the contrast has deeply affected her. Dexter might want to check on the White House social schedule to see when Melania will be out of town next.

Good luck with that, Maxine. You’ll need it. I’m sure your constituents in Portland and its suburbs are proud they sent you to Washington, DC, but maybe next time, stick with Tinder. 

Anyway. The real point this highlights is just how unhinged Democrats become with Trump. They spent the last eight years f***ing Trump, so to speak, and still think that strategy will work after losing another election to him. They impeached him twice, sued him repeatedly, had Democrat prosecutors gin up crazy criminal charges against him, and shrieked constantly about how Trump is Hitler. Their only coherent message in 2024 was that Trump was a “DANGER TO MUH DEMOCRACY!!!!!!!” while (a) warping their own presidential primaries to keep Biden’s senility from coming to light, and then (b) refusing to use a democratic process to anoint Kamala Harris on the ticket.

And how did all of that f***ing around work out? Democrats failed to gain ground in any US county over 2020, and in fact, lost ground in most of them to the Nazifasciststinkybottom strawman they created. Now that Trump has actually taken charge and reminded everyone what leadership looks like, his job approval is higher than it’s ever been, and so is his personal favorability. 

Especially with Mashy Maxine, IYKWIM … AITYD. Rowr.

Democrats still haven’t figured out that their next mission isn’t to “f*** Trump,” but to figure out how to stop f***ing themselves. The rage and hatred have become embarrassing to watch, and not just with Dexter attempting to “get down” with the hoi polloi with an F-word that she assumed granted her some weird kind of authenticity. La Resistance 1.0 at least had a basis of a (stupid) dispute over the 2016 election results; La Resistance 2.0 is making the term “Democrat” look like an exercise in ironic hypocrisy. 

If Democrats want to know why they’re on the outside looking in, these results from the CBS News poll this weekend should give them a huge f’ing clue:

Other than on tariffs, Democrats have put themselves on the fringe of every important issue for American voters (the left-hand column). Trump has aligned himself with the vast majority of the electorate on these issues and has forced the GOP to align itself accordingly as well. Trump is also taking swift and decisive action to fulfill voters’ wishes on these issues, although it’s still not fast enough for some of them (the right-hand column).  

Donald Trump isn’t their problem. Democrats are the Democrats’ biggest problem. And until they come to terms with the fact that voters detest their policies and their defense of the bureaucratic state, well … they’re f***ed.
