A legal showdown is erupting after a federal judge tried to block President Donald Trump’s latest move to deport criminal illegal aliens, and House Republicans are not standing down, as reported by Fox News.
Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill has introduced articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, accusing him of gross overreach and interference with the president’s authority.

Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’
“For the past several weeks, we’ve seen several rogue activist judges try to impede the president from exercising, not only the mandate voters gave him, but his democratic and constitutional authority to keep the American people safe. This is another example of a rogue judge overstepping his…authority.”
Gill’s impeachment resolution slams Boasberg for abusing his power when he slapped an emergency halt on Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to remove members of Tren de Aragua, the violent Venezuelan gang wreaking havoc in the U.S.

The centuries-old wartime authority was invoked by Trump to fast-track deportations, but Boasberg intervened at the last minute.
“Chief Judge Boasberg required President Trump to turn around planes midair that had aliens associated with Tren De Aragua, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization,” the resolution states.
“This conduct jeopardizes the safety of the nation, represents an abuse of judicial power, and is detrimental to the orderly functioning of the judiciary. Using the powers of his office, Chief Judge Boasberg has attempted to seize power from the Executive Branch and interfere with the will of the American people.”

The move triggered outrage from Trump, who took to Truth Social on Tuesday, blasting Boasberg as a “Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge, a troublemaker and agitator.”
“HE DIDN’T WIN ANYTHING! I WON FOR MANY REASONS, IN AN OVERWHELMING MANDATE, BUT FIGHTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION MAY HAVE BEEN THE NUMBER ONE REASON FOR THIS HISTORIC VICTORY.”
Gill, who serves on the House Judiciary Committee, says he wants the impeachment resolution to go through the proper channels.
“I’ll be talking to [Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio] about it. I think the best way to do this…is to go through the judiciary committee, which is where impeachment of judges runs through. I think the more we can stick with that plan, the better.”
The legal battle escalated when Boasberg verbally issued a 14-day restraining order late Saturday to block the deportations, responding to claims from left-wing human rights groups that Venezuelans with legitimate asylum claims could be mistakenly deported.
The Trump administration, however, maintains that the individuals targeted under the Alien Enemies Act were criminals, not innocent asylum seekers.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt pushed back on Boasberg’s order, stating that two of the planes carrying suspected gang members had already taken off before the written order was even filed in court.
“All of the planes that were subject to the written order, the judge’s written order, took off before the order was entered in the courtroom on Saturday,” Leavitt clarified Monday, stressing that the administration had not violated any court directive.

Despite this, Boasberg insisted in a court hearing that his “equitable powers” still applied, even after the planes were airborne.
“I’m just asking how you think my equitable powers do not attach to a plane that has departed the U.S., even if it’s in international airspace,” he argued, according to The Associated Press.
Gill isn’t buying it. This judge knew:
“Tying the president’s hands so that Trump and his team, instead of executing on the mandate the voters gave him, are litigating every single action that the president is taking.”
Calling Boasberg’s actions “unconstitutional” and a “usurpation of executive authority,” Gill made it clear that the fight is far from over.
With the battle over judicial interference heating up, House Republicans appear ready to hold the line. Trump has made it clear he won’t back down, and neither will the voters who elected him to clean up the mess created by decades of open-border policies.
