House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan subpoenaed Dr. Philip Dormitzer after he refused to testify in the 2020 vaccine delay probe, according to a letter.

Dormitzer, Pfizer’s former Global Head of Vaccine R&D, declined to testify before the House Judiciary Committee through his attorney, Susan Brune, according to Jordan’s letter. Brune notified the committee May 29. Jordan has subpoenaed Dormitzer on Monday to appear before the committee July 22 at 10:00 a.m.. “The allegation that some Pfizer employees worked to withhold public health information, apparently so as to influence the 2020 presidential election, implicates substantial federal interests and requires additional inquiry, which will in turn inform potential legislative reforms,” a press release reads.

Brune also narrowed the scope of the Committee’s document requests, claiming that her client had no responsive documents, but failed to address the four requested categories, Jordan alleged.

“Instead, she wrote that ‘Pfizer’s representatives are or will be in communication . . . to provide whatever details you might request,’” the congressman wrote. (RELATED: CDC Official Who Oversaw COVID Vaccine Recommendations Resigns Amid RFK’s Overhaul)

The Committee previously told Dormitzer that they obtained information indicating that, between Nov. 13-19, he communicated three times with a senior legal executive at GSK, according to a May 15 letter. Pfizer’s three highest-ranking R&D officials were allegedly connected to a move to postpone clinical testing to prevent its completion before the 2020 presidential election results.

“GSK further informed the Committee that you were ‘clear that this was not a situation of delaying disclosure of completed results but was a situation of slowing down results before disclosure became necessary.’ Notably, Ms. Brune’s response to the Committee did not dispute GSK’s principal assertions, including that you told a senior legal executive at GSK that Pfizer deliberately slowed down clinical testing so it would not be complete prior to the presidential election,” Jordan wrote.

Domitizer’s testimony is essential for the Committee’s oversight, and Brune’s reply did not justify his failure to comply with the request, according to the letter

“In addition, Ms. Brune’s response did not address any of the four categories of documents specifically sought by the Committee. Although Ms. Brune suggested that the Committee could obtain further ‘details’ from Pfizer, the Committee’s request to Pfizer is separate and unique from the Committee’s request to you,” Jordan continued (RELATED: Biden Admin Spent Weeks ‘Downplaying’ COVID Vaccine Risks Before Issuing Formal Warning, Senate Report Alleges)

“To the extent that Pfizer has provided information to the Committee, it does not relieve you from your obligation to comply with the subpoenas the Committee is issuing today.”

The chairman sent letters to Dormitzer and Pfizer CEO Dr. Albert Bourla on May 15 requesting their testimony after reports fueled allegations that Pfizer delayed releasing its final Phase 3 trial results and vaccine efficacy announcement  until Nov. 18, 2020 — 15 days after the election — to avoid aiding Trump’s potential re-election.
