Hunter Biden has publicly refused to apologize to First Lady Melania Trump after she threatened legal action over his comments linking her introduction to President Donald Trump with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as reported by Newsmax.
The first lady is seeking more than $1 billion in damages, alleging defamation after Biden suggested Epstein was responsible for introducing her to the president.
The remarks were made during an August 5 appearance on “Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan” and were featured in a video that remains online.

In a segment posted Thursday, Callaghan said he was in possession of a legal letter demanding a retraction and apology. When asked directly whether he would apologize, Biden responded:
“F**k that. That’s not going to happen,” before laughing.

According to Callaghan, Melania Trump’s attorneys are demanding the removal of the video and a formal apology from Biden. The legal threat follows Biden’s claim that his comments were based on existing media reports.

“What I said was what I have heard and seen reported and written primarily from Michael Wolff,” Biden said.
He also referenced reporting from The New York Times in 2019 by journalists Annie Karni and Maggie Haberman, stating that sources claimed Epstein introduced Trump to Melania. Biden further cited excerpts from a Vanity Fair book.
“The fact of the matter is, I don’t think that these threats of a lawsuit add up to anything other than a designed distraction,” Biden said.

Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, accused the Trumps of using intimidation tactics and said he would be willing to meet them in a legal setting.
“If they want to sit down for a deposition and clarify the nature of the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein, if the president and the first lady want to do that — and all the known associates around them at the time of whatever time they met — I’m more than happy to provide them the platform to do it,” he said.

During his August 5 appearance on Callaghan’s podcast, Biden was asked about potential Trump administration documents related to Epstein, who died in federal custody in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
“Do I think that there’s an actual [client] list? No, I don’t think that there’s an actual list. I don’t think that he was that stupid. But do I think that what they do have implicates [Trump]? Yeah, I think so,” Biden said.
“You know, I mean, Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. The connections are like so wide and deep.”
