I Am So Tired of Political ‘Science’

I do not know whether some vaccines, or the combination of an ungodly number of vaccines given so close together, increase the risk of autism. It seems plausible, given the number of vaccines and especially the large quantity of adjuvants (additives such as aluminum put in vaccines to increase the immune response), but the studies lean against the proposition.

None of the vaccines children get are similar to the mRNA COVID vaccine, so the dangers associated with it do not translate. On the other hand, even if no one or two vaccines increase the risk of autism, it seems quite plausible that the dose makes the poison. Testing any one of them tells you nothing about the effects of the combination of tens of vaccines given in a short period of time.

It bears study, without prejudice.

That there is prejudice is indisputable. Vaccines are a religion, not just a tool anymore. The amount of pushback from even raising a question is irrational. The same is true of other issues in medicine.

A great example is an issue that came up during the discussion surrounding RFK, Jr.’s testimony before Congress. One issue brought up was a possible relationship between the use of Tylenol during pregnancy and the incidence of autism in children.

RFK didn’t link Tylenol with autism.

The reaction against any questioning of the relationship was intense, yet RFK, Jr. didn’t make up the correlation by himself.

Who came up with it?

Researchers from Harvard and Mt. Sinai Hospital did, as you can read right here.

How did RFK, Jr. know about it? He can read, and he is actually curious about science, unlike those who have a near-religious devotion to whatever the conventional wisdom at the time happens to be.

New York, NY (August 13, 2025)  Researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have found that prenatal exposure to acetaminophen may increase the risk of neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), in children. The study, published today in BMC Environmental Health, is the first to apply the rigorous Navigation Guide methodology to systematically evaluate the rigor and quality of the scientific literature.

Acetaminophen (often sold under the brand name Tylenol®, and known as paracetamol outside the United States and Canada) is the most commonly used over-the-counter pain and fever medication during pregnancy and is used by more than half of pregnant women worldwide. Until now, acetaminophen has been considered the safest option for managing headache, fever, and other pain. Analysis by the Mount Sinai-led team of 46 studies incorporating data from more than 100,000 participants across multiple countries challenges this perception and underscores the need for both caution and further study.

The Navigation Guide Systematic Review methodology is a gold-standard framework for synthesizing and evaluating environmental health data. This approach allows researchers to assess and rate each study’s risk of bias, such as selective reporting of the outcomes or incomplete data, as well as the strength of the evidence and the quality of the studies individually and collectively.

“Our findings show that higher-quality studies are more likely to show a link between prenatal acetaminophen exposure and increased risks of autism and ADHD,” said Diddier Prada, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Population Health Science and Policy, and Environmental Medicine and Climate Science, at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. “Given the widespread use of this medication, even a small increase in risk could have major public health implications.”

RFK, Jr. is being treated as something of a heretic, and I suppose he is if you believe that whatever The Experts™ say is to be taken as gospel. Obviously, The Experts™ reserve the right to change their minds, but they treat themselves like a priesthood that should never be questioned.

In such an environment, it is actually incumbent upon individuals outside the priesthood to vigorously challenge the Narrative™, since we can no longer count on anybody within it to raise questions openly.

In medicine, this means that the public cannot rely on receiving genuine informed consent. This is, among other things, profoundly unethical.

We know this to be the case because we got a peek behind the curtain during COVID, when arbitrary decisions were made regularly, coordinated propaganda campaigns were the norm, and even witch hunts against dissenters were constant.

I don’t take anything RFK, Jr. says as gospel either. I am just as skeptical of his ideas as anyone else’s. But among public health officials, he appears to be one of the few willing to have open discussions about issues. The attacks on him are a sign of weakness, not strength, on the part of the consensus “scientists.”

When your CDC administrator makes policy like this, it’s time to hit the panic button:

Modern science in a nutshell.

Just a bunch of so-called “experts” who throw their hands up in the air and agree on what’s what. They read the room, feel the vibe for a “consensus,” and decidedly go with that.

It’s one giant credentialed circle jerk. https://t.co/u1E5X0fAWU

I find it troubling that people are lining up behind one side or the other rather than demanding rigorous science be done so that all of us can be confident of. There are still serious scientists out there, and they should be encouraged to test hypotheses without fear of being labeled heretics if they come up with the “wrong” answers.

We should also fund parallel studies using different approaches, rather than relying on any one set of studies.

Everything is so politicized that I lack confidence not just in any one study, but in the whole enterprise. It is fatally compromised.

I have a lot of confidence in Doctors Vinay Prasad and Jay Bhattacharya. They seem uncowed by the mob and committed to being led by the evidence.

That’s all I ask. That’s all anyone can ask in a world where uncertainty is the norm.
