Vice President J.D. Vance is promoting the SAVE AMERICA Act, a proposal aimed at preventing illegal aliens from voting in U.S. elections, drawing support from conservative commentators and renewed debate over election integrity measures.
Speaking about the legislation, radio host Vince Coglianese pointed to Vance’s recent remarks during an appearance in North Carolina.
“JD Vance is making the case for the SAVE AMERICA Act,” Coglianese said. “He was just out in North Carolina on Friday, and here’s what he had to say the vice president the United States.”

Vance outlined the purpose of the bill, emphasizing its focus on restricting voting eligibility to citizens.
“What the SAVE AMERICA Act does is that it makes it impossible for illegal aliens to vote in our elections,” Vance said.
He addressed criticism from Democrats who have argued that instances of illegal voting are minimal.
“My favorite thing is, whenever I bring this up, you’ll have some Democrat on TV who will say, well, we don’t have to worry about that, because illegal immigrants voting in our elections is very rare,” Vance said.

Vance then questioned that argument, stating, “Here’s the thing, though, even if you take the Democrats at their word, then why don’t we ban it anyway? I don’t get it.”
He continued by pointing to what he described as conflicting positions. “The Democrats say this never happens, or it happens only very rarely. On the one hand and on the other hand, we must not stop it. It doesn’t make a damn bit of sense.”
Vance concluded by reiterating the goal of the legislation. “We need to get all illegal aliens stopping from voting in our elections. It’s very common sense stuff.”
Coglianese voiced agreement with Vance’s position and commented on the broader political response to the proposal.
“Yeah, he’s right about that,” Coglianese said.
He then described what he sees as opposition from Democrats. “And the hysterics by the left is all the proof in the world that they’re very aware that they’re the beneficiaries of illegal votes.”
Coglianese added, “No doubt, many of them encourage that very thing, and the reason they don’t want election integrity is to protect that scheme, duh.”
He also argued that if the issue were not contested, it would move easily through Congress. “If this was nothing, if this was just a random thing, this would be like naming a post office.”
“They could pass it with unanimous consent in the Senate, everyone yawns and moves on with their work,” he said.
Coglianese concluded, “Yet here we are fighting for the basics. Yeah, that’s because they’re cheating. It’s as simple as that.”
