Shaquille O’Neal issued a direct and heated warning to former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III over his recent remarks involving WNBA player Angel Reese, as reported by the New York Post.
Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of Off the Record with Bailey Jackson, O’Neal told Griffin to stop making posts about Reese or face consequences.
“RG3? Tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I’m going to punch you in your f**king face,” O’Neal said. “It’s enough. I don’t usually do stuff like this, but just stop it bro.”

The controversy stems from a July 10 post by Griffin on X, in which he condemned a racist photo edit of Reese.
However, critics said that Griffin amplified the offensive image by reposting it, even while calling it out. He also repeated a previous claim that Reese “hates” fellow WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark, saying he had spoken with individuals close to Reese who allegedly confirmed it.
Alright. This has got to stop. There is no place for racism in this world. Whether you like a player or not. Angel Reese should never be called or depicted as a Monkey.

Reese fired back on X, responding without naming Griffin directly: “Lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work.”

O’Neal, who has maintained a close mentorship relationship with Reese since her college basketball days at LSU, expressed his frustration over the situation.
“You got your job, you got your podcast,” he said, addressing Griffin. “Leave my Angel Reese alone. I’m the one calling her telling her not to respond. F**king stop it. That’s the last time. OK?”
O’Neal continued, criticizing Griffin’s media presence.
“It’s a shame that all the stuff you did in your life, you’re going to be remembered for your podcast. That should tell you you’re not that f–ing great. I don’t want to be remembered for Shaq’s ‘Big Podcast.’ I do not. Leave those girls alone.”
He also questioned Griffin’s standing to comment on women’s basketball. “I would respect it more if Lisa Leslie said it, like that’s [women’s basketball players’] category,” O’Neal said. “Stay out of them peoples’ category.”

Reese currently plays for the Chicago Sky and has remained a high-profile figure since entering the WNBA following a national title run with LSU.
Her public exchanges, particularly those involving Caitlin Clark, have drawn media attention, but O’Neal made clear he believes she deserves better than to be the subject of inflammatory online narratives.
