The crash occurred around 3 p.m. Tuesday when Singh attempted an illegal U-turn through an “Official Use Only” median crossing, blocking all northbound lanes of traffic.
Dashcam footage from inside the cab shows Singh pulling across the highway as a black minivan approached with no time to stop. The van collided head-on with the trailer and was crushed beneath it.
Photos from the scene showed the minivan destroyed beyond recognition, its contents scattered across the highway. The roof had been sheared back, leaving twisted metal across the roadway.

Two passengers in the van were killed instantly. The driver was pulled from the wreckage alive but later died at a nearby hospital.
Authorities identified the victims as a 37-year-old woman from Pompano Beach, a 30-year-old man from Florida City, and a 54-year-old man from Miami, according to Treasure Coast Newspapers. Their names have not yet been released to the public.
Footage following the crash showed Singh standing calmly at the scene, appearing emotionless as first responders worked to remove the victims from the mangled vehicle.

Witnesses said he stood with his arms at his side, watching as crews jacked up the trailer to recover the bodies.
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles announced that Singh has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide.
Court documents revealed that Singh had been living illegally in the United States since crossing the southern border in 2018. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has issued a detainer against him.
Singh was operating with a California commercial driver’s license at the time of the crash. If convicted, he is expected to serve his sentence in Florida before facing deportation.
