Illegal Alien Trucker Failed English, Road Signs Tests Before Fatal Florida U-Turn Crash [WATCH]

Federal and state authorities revealed that a truck driver accused of causing a fatal crash in Florida, which killed three people, had previously failed an English language proficiency exam and was unable to identify standard highway traffic signs, as reported by Breitbart.

The driver, identified as Harjinder Singh, allegedly attempted to make an illegal U-turn on the Florida Turnpike near Fort Pierce on August 12, leading to the deadly collision.

He did so with the help of Gavin Newsom’s administration by giving him a commercial driver’s license.

According to a press release from the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) launched an investigation into the incident, which has since resulted in criminal charges.

During interviews conducted by investigators, Singh was administered an English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessment. Officials reported that Singh answered correctly on only two of twelve verbal questions and was able to identify just one of four highway traffic signs.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a statement that the crash was preventable. “If states had followed the rules, this driver would never have been behind the wheel and three precious lives would still be with us,” Duffy said.

He added that the case demonstrated “despicable failures” within the system. “Non-enforcement and radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a lawless frontier, resulting in unqualified foreign drivers improperly acquiring licenses to operate 40-ton vehicles.”

This cannot happen again.

Records released by the DOT showed that Singh was issued a full-term Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in Washington State on July 15, 2023, before receiving a limited-term, non-domiciled CDL in California on July 23, 2024.

The Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Department confirmed that state troopers obtained a criminal arrest warrant for Singh on three counts of vehicular homicide.

With assistance from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), investigators determined Singh had entered the United States illegally in 2018, crossing the southern border before acquiring a commercial license in California.

The Florida crash occurred when Singh, driving a northbound semi-truck, attempted to use an “official use only” median opening to make a U-turn. Authorities said the maneuver required crossing all lanes of traffic, resulting in the collision that left three Americans dead.

The incident is the latest in a series of road fatalities linked to foreign truck drivers.

President Donald Trump addressed the issue earlier this year, signing an executive order in April that emphasized English proficiency as a mandatory requirement for commercial drivers.

“They should be able to read and understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety, border patrol, agricultural checkpoints, and cargo weight-limit station officers. Drivers need to provide feedback to their employers and customers and receive related directions in English. This is common sense.”
