The Department of Justice’s (DOJ) report about Jan. 6, 2021 will most likely be delayed past the November election, a DOJ inspector general confirmed in a congressional hearing Wednesday.
Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie pressed Inspector General Michael Horowitz on why the report — after nearly 4 years — had yet to be released.
Horowitz stated the review of Jan. 6 was paused due to “ongoing criminal cases” and that he was currently reviewing a draft of the report. (RELATED: Biden DHS Alleged To Have Tried To Suppress Critical Jan. 6 Report)
“So 3 1/2 years ago it was announced that you’d be doing this review, and we still don’t have the review, do we?” Massie asked.
Horowitz answered no, adding, “We don’t interfere with ongoing criminal investigations.”
Yesterday in @Weaponization, I questioned Inspector General Horowitz about the number of confidential human sources who entered the Capitol on 1/6.
Horowitz said the number won’t be known before the election. Biden-Harris doesn’t want the feds’ role on 1/6 known. Why? pic.twitter.com/9UJ4GXMdTX

Massie also asked Horowitz if he possessed evidence regarding the amount of “confidential human sources” at the capitol grounds on Jan. 6.
“Our report will include information in that regard,” Horowitz stated. He refused to answer directly how many were present, however. He also would not say how many confidential informants entered the capitol, but noted that the information would be in the report. (RELATED: PATEL: The Truth About Jan. 6)
Horowitz said he hoped the report would be released prior to the inauguration but doubted it would be completed before the November election.
Today I asked DOJ Inspector General why his J6 report has taken almost 4 years and won’t come out before the election.
The number of FBI informants participating in the January 6th 2021 protest will shock folks.
I’ll post the rest of my questions from this hearing later today. https://t.co/3bkzzNj8oJ

In the hearing, Massie revealed he had asked another DOJ inspector general if the FBI had video footage of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Jan. 6, and the answer was no.
“They don’t even have video footage of the DNC,” Massie emphasized. (RELATED: Thomas Massie Grills J6 Committee Chair Over Pipe Bomb Investigation, Secret Service Scrubbing Phones)
Footage released by Massie last year showed that the Secret Service and a bomb-sniffing dog conducted a sweep of the DNC area.
The now Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was evacuated from the DNC’s headquarters after a pipe bomb was discovered, POLITICO first reported.
Inspector General Joseph Cuffari sent a letter to leaders on the House and Senate Homeland Security Committees in July 2022, writing “many [Secret Service] text messages, from January 5 and 6, 2021, were erased as part of a device-replacement program.”
