Israel Blows the Doors Off Iran’s Prison for Political Dissidents with Precision Strike [WATCH]

Israel carried out a major series of airstrikes Monday targeting multiple government and military sites across Tehran, including the headquarters of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite military police force, and the infamous Evin Prison.

The air campaign came just one day after the United States joined Israel in military operations aimed at preventing Iran from advancing its nuclear weapons program.

The Israeli Defense Ministry stated, “The Iranian dictator will be punished with full force for attacking the Israeli home front,” in a message released following the strikes.

Among the most high-profile targets was Evin Prison, long known for housing political prisoners, journalists, human rights activists, and regime critics.

Israeli airstrikes reportedly blasted open the front of the facility.

According to Iran International, an outlet opposed to the Tehran regime, the attack allowed an unknown number of prisoners to escape.

Surveillance footage showed the moment a missile strike blew the prison doors off their hinges.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar posted the video online with the caption, “Viva la libertad!”

In the same statement, Sa’ar wrote, “We warned Iran time and again: stop targeting civilians! They continued, including this morning.”

Iran’s state-aligned media acknowledged the strike. Mizan Online reported, “In the latest attack by the Zionist regime on Tehran, projectiles unfortunately struck Evin prison, causing damage to parts of the facility.”

Evin Prison, located in the hills of northern Tehran, was built in 1971 under the Shah’s government.

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, it has been operated by the current regime. In 1988, thousands of political prisoners were executed at the site following expedited trials, according to Human Rights Watch.

Monday’s airstrikes reportedly involved over 100 munitions dropped in a two-hour window.

In addition to Evin Prison, Israel targeted the IRGC’s internal security headquarters, Basij militia sites, and the ideological headquarters of the regime.

An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said many IRGC personnel were killed in the operation.

One notable symbolic target was a clock in Tehran’s Palestine Square that counted down to the predicted “destruction of Israel” in 2040.

The clock was installed in 2017 by the Iranian regime.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the strike, stating that the site was among several regime targets now destroyed.

Katz issued a statement detailing the full scope of the campaign: “The IDF is currently striking with unprecedented force regime targets and governmental repression bodies in the heart of Tehran, including the Basij headquarters, the Evin Prison for political prisoners and regime opponents, the ‘Destruction of Israel’ clock in Palestine Square, the internal security headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards, the ideology headquarters, and other regime targets.”

Separately, Israeli strikes hit access roads near the Fordow nuclear facility, one of three underground enrichment centers in Iran.

The facility was also targeted by U.S. forces over the weekend as part of coordinated efforts to hinder Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

The IDF stated that these strikes were intended to disrupt entry to the heavily fortified site.

Israel has maintained that its operations are in direct response to ongoing threats and attacks by Iran and its proxies, and that it will continue to take necessary actions to defend itself and prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
