James Carville Fantasizes About Democrats Taking Trump Family’s Money During Unhinged Rant

Democratic strategist James Carville vowed Democrats would loot the Trump family fortune in a video posted to social media Tuesday.

Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James, who promised to investigate Trump during her 2018 campaign for office, sued Trump in September 2022, alleging he overstated the value of real estate holdings to obtain loans. Carville giddily predicted that Democrats would take a similar approach if they took control of Congress in the 2026 midterms in the video. “People are going to be on to you and when the Democrats get back in office in January, they’re going right after the corruption, and we’re going to know what we’re going to do,” Carville said. “We’re gonna find out all the the money that has gone the wrong way and we’re gonna have a legal proceeding and we’re gonna have what you call a [clawback]. We’re going to get to go out, get the money, give it back to the people of the United States.”

New York Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Trump was to pay $354 million, with additional penalties pushing the total amount owed to over $450 million on Feb. 16, 2024.

Real estate experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Engoron’s ruling greatly undervalued Mar-a-Lago, the Florida estate owned by Trump, which some considered to be worth more than $250,000,000.

Carville previously predicted Trump would “cut a deal” after a new round of investigations by Democrats, who have targeted the president with various probes since he won the 2016 election, adding that Trump’s children and their spouses should also be subjected to inquiries.

“They’re going to start going after you. Then they’re going to start figuring out where all the money stolen is. Then they’re going to go after your stupid jackass kids and their spouses and all the other bullshit that you see, and they’re going to investigate the shit out of you,” Carville said in a March 31 video posted to YouTube.
