Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is facing mounting criticism after reportedly bypassing passengers in wheelchairs while boarding a flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport over the weekend, as reported by The New York Post.
According to photos posted by House GOP Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-MI), Crockett was seen boarding a Delta Airlines flight with a police escort, ahead of other passengers—including at least two individuals in wheelchairs.

McClain wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “SPOTTED: Jasmine Crockett with a taxpayer-funded police escort, cutting everyone in line — even making DISABLED people wait.”

McClain also commented, “Nothing to see here, just the next leader of the Democrats, abusing her power.”

The incident occurred as Crockett was traveling from Atlanta back to Washington, D.C., on Sunday. The Department of Transportation requires airlines to allow passengers with disabilities extra time to board, granting them priority before general boarding.
Delta Airlines has not issued a comment on the incident, and Crockett’s office has not responded to multiple requests for clarification.
Crockett’s airport behavior comes under added scrutiny due to her previous remarks aimed at Texas Governor Greg Abbott, whom she called “governor hot wheels” in a comment earlier this year mocking his use of a wheelchair.
Conservatives quickly took to social media to criticize what they viewed as a blatant abuse of congressional privilege.
“Why does Jasmine Crockett get a taxpayer funded police escort? Not to mention why she gets to cut in line ahead of people in wheelchairs,” Townhall columnist Phil Holloway asked on X.

Crockett, now in her second term in Congress, has gained national attention for her outspoken criticism of President Donald Trump. In an interview aired Sunday morning on NBC’s Meet the Press, President Trump referred to Crockett as a “low IQ person.”
Crockett responded shortly after via social media, writing:
“Every time you say my name, you’re reminding the world that you’re terrified of smart, bold Black women telling the truth and holding you accountable.”
Crockett is considered a rising figure in the Democratic Party and is reportedly a contender to succeed Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) as ranking member of the House Oversight Committee. Connolly recently announced he would step down due to a resurgence of cancer.
Although other Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) were floated as possible candidates, Crockett is currently on the committee and does not require a waiver to be considered for the position.
She has previously clashed with Republican members of the panel, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
