Jasmine Crockett Defends ‘Wannabe Hitler’ Comments, Justifies ‘Fascists’ Rhetoric [WATCH]

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) defended Democrats’ use of sharp language against political opponents during a Tuesday appearance on CNN, where she was pressed on whether such rhetoric may have contributed to political violence, including the recent assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

CNN host Kasie Hunt asked Crockett directly whether the repeated comparisons of Republicans to “fascists” or “Hitler” by Democrats had fueled hostility.

“So, I’d like to ask you to respond to critics who have pointed the finger at Democrats who have used phrases like fascist or Hitler made comparisons to those things over time. Do you think that’s contributed to this, or are those critics wrong?” Hunt asked.

Crockett rejected the suggestion, arguing that the terms were justified in the fight against what she described as authoritarian behavior from Republicans and the Trump administration.

“They’re absolutely wrong. Here’s the reality: They don’t want American people to know any forms of history… The reality is that when we look at what is taking place, when you look at an authoritarian, and what they do is they try to basically say, ‘You have to do whatever the government says even if that means that your personal freedoms are going to be subjected to whatever we say, whether it’s right or wrong,’” Crockett said.

She continued, “Right now, our personal freedoms are constantly under attack.”

Crockett then shifted the focus to Republicans, claiming their culture and policies promote firearms and a permissive view of violence.

“But when we look at it, please tell me who is fostering this gun culture, right? I mean, the average person on the left probably couldn’t make a shot from 200 yards because they haven’t been playing with assault rifles since they were a little kid. Like, that is just the reality of how people on the left typically work,” she said.

The Texas Democrat added that Republicans tolerate violence when it supports their political goals.

“It seems like violence is okay if it is only because the man that is currently serving in the White House asked for it… But then, when it ends up happening and it comes back on the other side, they claim that it’s because of the Democrats and them using words like fascist,” Crockett said.

Hunt did not challenge Crockett’s remarks and allowed her to continue uninterrupted for nearly two minutes.

That approach drew criticism from some conservative commentators who argued that the exchange gave Crockett a platform to justify rhetoric without pushback.

Crockett also defended her earlier comments in which she labeled President Donald Trump a “wannabe Hitler,” remarks she made just days after Kirk’s assassination.

She insisted those statements were not intended to incite violence but to warn of what she sees as authoritarian tendencies.

Her comments drew sharp criticism from conservative figures, including White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson, who told Newsweek that Crockett’s remarks were irresponsible.

“Jasmine Crockett is the queen of divisive rhetoric, and it’s despicable that she would try and point fingers at President Trump for the assassination of his dear friend, Charlie Kirk,” Jackson said.

Crockett’s appearance comes amid heightened debate over political speech following the killing of Kirk, who was shot by a suspect authorities described as a far-left extremist.

The conversation over language and responsibility has intensified in the wake of the attack, with Democrats and Republicans accusing one another of fostering the environment that contributed to the violence.

The CNN exchange highlighted those divisions as Crockett maintained that her words were historically accurate and justified, while critics argued such rhetoric deepens partisan tensions at a moment when the country is grappling with the fallout of Kirk’s death.
