Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has always been known for his sense of humor, both on and off the football field.
His latest parenting revelation, shared on the popular podcast New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother Travis Kelce, further solidifies his reputation for comedy, even when it comes to his household.
In a recent episode, Jason hilariously divulged a creative yet questionable tactic he’s been using to avoid getting a pet cat, much to the amusement of his brother—and likely many listeners.

It all started when Travis confronted Jason about his apparent aversion to the idea of having a feline in the family home.
“Listen, I respect what a cat can do in nature,” Jason began, acknowledging the prowess of felines in the wild.
“It’s a ferocious hunting animal.” But his respect for cats doesn’t translate to an eagerness to invite one into his house.
For many parents, the moment their kids start begging for a pet can be a tricky situation.

While some give in, Jason decided to take a rather unconventional route to keep his home cat-free. His solution? Tell his three children that cats are poisonous.
Yes, you read that correctly. Rather than simply saying no, Jason has been convincing his daughters that having a cat around is a potential hazard to their health.
“It’s whatever, they’ll find out,” Jason joked during the podcast, when Travis asked if he thought this plan was a good idea in the long term.
“I think lying to your kids is important. I think it’s genius. I think it’s a genius ploy.”
Jason’s tactic sparked immediate laughs from Travis and, undoubtedly, from the podcast’s listeners.
But the comedy doesn’t stop there. Fans of the Kelce brothers quickly pointed out a potential problem with Jason’s strategy—one that could lead to an amusing showdown in the near future.
Travis’s girlfriend is none other than pop superstar Taylor Swift, a well-known cat lover who frequently shares pictures of her beloved felines with her fans.

Swift’s cats, Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button, are practically celebrities in their own right.
The inevitable moment when Jason’s daughters meet Auntie TayTay’s cats hasn’t escaped the attention of fans.
One Twitter user hilariously speculated on the looming clash, asking, “And what is Jason’s plan when they meet Auntie TayTay’s cats?”
Jason’s response to this looming showdown was, unsurprisingly, dripping with humor: “It’s gonna be hilarious,” he said, fully embracing the awkward moment when his children realize that cats aren’t, in fact, dangerous.
Whether or not Jason’s children eventually get the pet they’ve been asking for, one thing is certain—Jason’s approach to parenting (and to avoiding the responsibility of a pet) is anything but ordinary.
His lighthearted antics, combined with the prospect of his kids meeting Swift’s famous felines, are sure to provide more entertainment in the future.
For now, though, it seems Jason’s clever (and slightly mischievous) tactic is working.
Time will tell how long he can keep it up—especially with a cat-loving Taylor Swift potentially waiting in the wings to set the record straight.
In the world of football and parenting, Jason Kelce continues to keep things fun, unpredictable, and full of laughter.
