JD Vance Lays the Smack Down on the Left’s Anti-ICE Rhetoric in Fiery Speech [WATCH]

Vice President JD Vance issued a sharp condemnation of political rhetoric directed at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during a press conference in Concord, North Carolina, on Wednesday, following a deadly shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas.

At least two detainees were killed and another injured after a gunman opened fire on the facility.

Authorities identified the shooter as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn. Law enforcement officials stated Jahn fired from a nearby rooftop into the building, striking multiple areas before turning his weapon on himself.

He also fired into an ICE processing van, where the detainees were located.

ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan confirmed the victims were illegal aliens being held for processing and awaiting transfer to a long-term detention facility.

“The three detainees were in the country illegally and being processed at this facility and would have been moved to a long-term detention facility,” Sheahan told Fox News.

She added that the surviving detainee remains in “critical” condition.

Sheahan emphasized that ICE is coordinating with local officers to ensure families are notified before further information is released.

“We are working with our local officers to identify next of kin and make sure those notifications are made. Until that time, I don’t want to jump ahead on any families dealing with this tragedy,” she said.

Investigators reported that Jahn left anti-ICE messages scribbled on unused ammunition.

Federal officials confirmed that the attack appeared politically motivated.

Speaking in North Carolina, Vice President Vance directly tied left-wing rhetoric to the attack, pointing to remarks made by California Governor Gavin Newsom during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

In that interview, Newsom accused ICE agents of “kidnapping” individuals and described their actions as part of an “authoritarian government,” while encouraging his supporters to “push back.”

“And I think that is the most disgusting thing. The very people who keep us safe ought to be honored and protected and praised by Democrats and Republicans alike. It is time to stop the rhetorical assault on law enforcement,” Vance said.

Vance warned that inflammatory language encourages violence against federal officers.

“Because here’s what happens when Democrats like Gavin Newsom did, say that these people are part of an authoritarian government. When the left-wing media lies about what they’re doing, when they lie about who they’re arresting, when they lie about the actual job of law enforcement, what they’re doing is encouraging crazy people to go and commit violence,” he stated.

He added that while policy disagreements are part of the democratic process, rhetoric inciting violence has no place in American politics.

“You don’t have to agree with my immigration policies. You don’t have to agree with Donald Trump’s immigration policies. But if your political rhetoric encourages violence against our law enforcement, you can go straight to hell and you have no place in the political conversation of the United States of America,” Vance declared.

Sheahan confirmed that agents were targeted during the attack and described how the gunman fired into multiple areas of the building from an adjacent rooftop.

“What we do know so far is that the shooter was firing indiscriminately throughout the whole building,” she said.

“The shooter was at a building nearby, shooting directly into the building, going across the entire length of the building.”

Joe Rothrock, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Dallas field office, confirmed that no law enforcement personnel were injured.

Sheahan later added that investigators found bullets throughout the facility.

“We found bullets throughout the entire building that had punctured into the facility, targeting the entire ICE facility,” she said.

Federal authorities continue to investigate Jahn’s motives and background as ICE and DHS review security protocols in the aftermath of the shooting.
