Fox News host Jesse Watters said actor Shia LaBeouf once yelled a vulgar insult at him in an airport lounge in front of his children. Watters made the claim during a Tuesday interview with playwright and director David Mamet, who recently worked with LaBeouf on a new film titled Henry Johnson, as reported by The New York Post.

“Well, Shia LaBeouf told me to go F myself at a Delta lounge at the airport a couple years ago,” Watters said. “So tell him I said ‘Hi.’ Will you do that for me?”

Watters had previously mentioned the incident on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, stating that LaBeouf had called him “trash, right in front of my kids,” according to a report by the Daily Mail.

The exchange reportedly occurred in 2019, around the same time LaBeouf was appearing in several independent films and facing legal and personal challenges. Since then, the 39-year-old actor has undergone notable personal changes.

He converted to Catholicism and became a father, sharing daughter Isabel with actress Mia Goth.

LaBeouf recently appeared in the headlines again following the dismissal of a high-profile lawsuit brought by his former girlfriend, singer FKA Twigs.

The lawsuit, which was filed in 2020, accused LaBeouf of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress during their one-year relationship.

FKA Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, met LaBeouf during production of the 2019 film Honey Boy, which LaBeouf wrote and starred in. The case was scheduled to go to trial in September, but Twigs filed to dismiss the lawsuit on July 18, according to Page Six.

In a joint statement released by the two parties, they said, “While the details of the settlement will remain private, we wish each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.”

LaBeouf’s representatives have not issued a public comment on the airport incident or Watters’ remarks.

LaBeouf’s conversion to Catholicism took place last year in a ceremony conducted by Capuchin Franciscan friars. The actor has since spoken publicly about his faith and has appeared in several faith-based projects.

The recent conversation between Watters and Mamet, whose new film stars LaBeouf, brought renewed attention to the 2019 encounter between the actor and the Fox News host.
