The New York Jets are finalizing a trade that will send quarterback Justin Fields to the Kansas City Chiefs, pending a physical, with Kansas City expected to send a 2027 sixth round draft pick to New York in return.

Earlier this month, New York reacquired Geno Smith in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, sending a 2026 sixth round pick (No. 208 overall) to the Raiders in exchange for Smith and a seventh round pick (No. 219 overall). The deal also included a contract restructure with the Raiders covering most of Smith’s remaining salary, limiting the Jets’ commitment to just above the veteran minimum.
