Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio said Tuesday that he believes a whistleblower accusing Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff of California of misconduct is credible, citing past patterns of behavior by Democratic leadership and intelligence officials.
The comments came during Jordan’s appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, where he discussed an FBI memo indicating that in 2017, a whistleblower alleged Schiff had approved leaks of classified information to target President Donald Trump.
At the time, Schiff was serving in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I hope the whistleblower will come forward and talk to our staff. We’ve dealt with whistleblowers, several, you know, dozens over the last several years. I hope they’ll come forward, and we can talk to him,” Jordan said.
“But what I do know is whether this guy’s credible or not, it seems to me he is, and the main reason I believe he’s probably credible is this is their pattern. They did it all along.”
Jordan pointed to documents declassified earlier this year by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, which he said supported the broader claim that intelligence assessments were altered for political purposes.
According to Jordan, the declassified files allege that former President Barack Obama and members of his national security team fabricated and politicized intelligence after President Trump’s 2016 election victory.

“They were leaking information to friendly news outlets to further this false narrative that somehow President Trump was working with the Russians and the election was compromised. It’s all baloney. We’ve had countless investigations, the Durham Report, the Mueller Report, all these things that said that was garbage,” Jordan said.
“And then, of course, we had the information that Tulsi just released, ODNI Director Gabbard just released three weeks ago, that showed what they were doing, where they changed the intelligence community assessment.”
The Ohio Republican compared the current whistleblower’s allegations to what he described as a coordinated effort by Democrats to undermine former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes.
“One other thing that I think is critically important is, remember what they did to Chairman Nunes. They accused him of doing this when he did it,” Jordan said.
“They accused him of the very thing that they did, according to this whistleblower, typical left operation. Always accuse us of what they’re actually doing. All that. Devin was driven by it all along.”
Schiff’s office has denied the allegations, calling them false and defamatory.
A spokesperson for Schiff said the claims originate from a former staffer who was fired, and that the allegations have no basis in fact.
The FBI memo referenced by Jordan has not been made public in full, and the whistleblower’s identity has not been disclosed.
Jordan emphasized that he wants the whistleblower to speak directly to congressional investigators, noting that his committee has experience handling such cases and will review the claims in detail.
The allegations come as broader debates continue in Washington over the handling of classified information, the role of intelligence agencies in political matters, and oversight of past investigations into President Trump.
