Joe Biden drew attention over Labor Day weekend after being spotted with a large gash on his head while attending services in Delaware.
Footage captured in Rehoboth Beach showed the 82-year-old leaving a church with a red wound across the front of his head, partially covered by his hair.

The video, posted to social media by political activist Fred Karger, prompted questions about Biden’s health.

“I was a little surprised cause it’s a noticeable scar,” Karger told Inside Edition, which first reported the footage.
“It looks fresh, a little hair combed over the scar. It looks to me like someone who had several basal cells, skin cancers removed from his head.”
A spokesperson for Biden confirmed Thursday that he recently underwent Mohs surgery, a common procedure for treating skin cancer.
The operation removes layers of skin until all cancerous tissue is eliminated while preserving as much healthy skin as possible.
It is unclear when Biden had the surgery, though he was previously seen with a bandage on his head in late August when attending the funeral of former Delaware Governor and Representative Mike Castle at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church in Greenville.
This is not the first time Biden has undergone treatment for skin cancer.
In February 2023, following a routine physical, doctors removed a cancerous lesion from his chest that was later diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma.
In addition to skin cancer, Biden is also facing a more serious condition.
He was diagnosed in May 2024 with Stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.
According to reports, a medical exam revealed a “small nodule” on his prostate along with other cancer cells that had gone undetected by his White House medical team.
Despite the diagnosis, Biden’s longtime physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, declared him “fit to serve” in February 2024 after a routine examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
That assessment came as Biden prepared to lead the Democratic ticket in the 2024 election.
The confirmation of his prostate cancer prompted sharp criticism from political opponents and sparked accusations that his administration and inner circle concealed the seriousness of his medical condition, both physically and cognitively, while he was in office.
Joe Biden continues to undergo treatment, though specific details on the nature and progress of that treatment have not been publicly disclosed.
Biden, who served one term as the 46th president, has frequently been the subject of questions about his health in recent years.
His visible head wound over the weekend has renewed scrutiny about his condition as he maintains a public presence following his departure from the White House.
