On the eve of Election Day, popular podcast host Joe Rogan took to social media to endorse former President Donald Trump for president.

The announcement, made via X (formerly Twitter), followed Rogan’s recent high-profile interviews with both Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Rogan, whose podcast draws an estimated 14.5 million Spotify followers, revealed his support in a post promoting his latest interview with Musk, stating, “For the record, yes, that’s an endorsement of Trump.”

The endorsement comes less than two weeks after Rogan’s nearly three-hour sit-down with Trump on October 25, an episode that has generated significant attention.

During their conversation, Trump urged Rogan to consider supporting his campaign, pointing to Musk’s backing. “He gave me the nicest endorsement,” Trump said, referring to Musk’s support following a harrowing experience in July when he was nearly attacked at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump encouraged Rogan directly, saying, “You should do the same thing, Joe, because you cannot be voting for Kamala. Kamala. You’re not a Kamala person. I know you.”

Trump asked Joe Rogan to follow Elon Musk’s example and endorse him midway through the podcast, “You should do the same thing, Joe, because you cannot be voting for Kamala.”

Rogan, who previously described himself as “not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form” back in 2022, has now changed course.

With less than 24 hours until Election Day, he joined a growing list of public figures rallying behind Trump.

Rogan’s endorsement is noteworthy, given his history of supporting diverse political candidates.

In 2020, Rogan endorsed Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary and, more recently, expressed admiration for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who ran as an independent candidate this election cycle before ultimately endorsing Trump.

In his recent interview with Musk, Rogan addressed his decision, noting that Trump isn’t a “perfect” candidate but stands out against his opposition. “[The Democrats] have done such a job of painting Trump as a monster,” Rogan explained, “they’ve taken the worst things that he’s ever said and [amplified them] and he’s not a perfect person. But guess what? No one’s perfect. They don’t exist.”

Rogan also critiqued narratives suggesting Trump would undermine American democracy, expressing frustration with what he sees as an attempt to frame Kamala Harris as the nation’s future leader. “There’s this other narrative that drives me crazy… [Trump] is going to destroy democracy,” Rogan remarked.

“So in order to destroy democracy, we have to install a president without a primary, we have to have a candidate that is the least liked vice president of all time—the least popular vice president of all time—and then use gaslighting and the full force of the media machine to turn her into the future and hope.”

Trump, learning of Rogan’s endorsement at a rally in Pittsburgh on Monday night, shared the news with his audience. “I have some more big news now. I’m just getting this right now,” Trump said, addressing his supporters. “So somebody that’s very, very respected asked me to do his show two weeks ago, and I said, ‘Why not?’ And to me, it’s very big because he’s the biggest there is, I guess, in that world by far… And his name is Joe Rogan, and he’s never done this before. And it just came over the wires that Joe Rogan just endorsed me.”

Trump expressed his gratitude, adding, “That’s so nice. And he doesn’t do that… He’s not a person that does endorsements, but he did an endorsement. So I just want to thank Joe Rogan. That’s fantastic.”

The support from Rogan adds another layer to Trump’s endorsement roster as Election Day approaches, with Rogan’s podcast known for its wide reach and overwhelmingly male audience.

Rogan’s October 25 interview with Trump has already amassed over 45 million views on YouTube as of late Monday, underscoring his influence in shaping conversations around the election.

In previous statements, Rogan has described himself as hesitant to make political endorsements, famously stating, “I’m not the guy to get political information from.” However, his backing of Trump, coupled with recent endorsements of RFK Jr. and Musk’s support, signals a shift toward more political involvement from the typically apolitical host.

Rogan’s platform remains a top-ranking podcast, routinely taking the number one spot on Spotify’s podcast charts.
