Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman made his first post on Truth Social, the social media platform launched by President-elect Donald Trump, on Tuesday.
Fetterman criticized Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump as “bullshit,” slamming the weaponization of the judicial branch as a cause of political division. He said the same of the case against President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, who received a pardon on Dec. 1.
“My first truth,” the Democratic senator wrote. “The Trump hush money and Hunter Biden cases were both bullshit, and pardons are appropriate.”
“Weaponizing the judiciary for blatant, partisan gain diminishes the collective faith in our institutions and sows further division,” he added.
Although Fetterman joined Truth Social in November, according to his profile, he did not post until late Tuesday. The social media platform sent out a push notification announcing he joined early Wednesday.
Fetterman’s post was not the first time he spoke out on Bragg’s case against Trump, which ended in a guilty conviction on 34 felony counts. The Democratic senator told “The View” on Dec. 5 that the case was “politically motivated” and led to a distrust in U.S. institutions among the American public.
Despite Trump’s motion to dismiss the case, Bragg opposed the president-elect’s move Monday and urged Judge Juan Merchan to uphold the jury’s guilty verdict, according to court records.

Fetterman previously made waves in November when he praised some of Trump’s “serious, qualified” appointments to his incoming Cabinet.
The Democratic senator has also hit back at the pro-Palestine stance of some members of his party, establishing himself as a staunch supporter of Israel. He met with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in June despite outrage from other Democrats. Ahead of Election Day, Fetterman called Trump support in his home state “astonishing,” mentioning that Trump “one hundred percent” has a special connection with the people of Pennsylvania.
