Joy Behar Tanks Democrat Strategy, Calls Men Sexist After Millions Spent [WATCH]

ABC’s daytime talk show The View weighed in Friday on the Democratic Party’s ongoing challenges with male voters, brushing off serious concerns raised by party strategists and doubling down on claims that men are the problem, as reported by The Western Journal.

The segment was sparked by a recent New York Times report titled “Six Months Later, Democrats Are Still Searching for the Path Forward,” which detailed a growing concern within the party about declining support from working-class and younger male voters—particularly online.

According to the report, Democratic donors have launched a $20 million initiative dubbed “SAM” (Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan), aimed at understanding how to communicate more effectively with male audiences.

The SAM prospectus obtained by the Times called for investments in studying online male spaces, including ad placements in video games, and recommended moving away from the party’s traditionally moralizing tone.

Despite the serious tone of the report, The View co-host Joy Behar dismissed the effort, saying, “Maybe these guys should spend their money on teaching men to not be such sexists.” Her comment was met with applause from the studio audience.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, the panel’s token conservative voice, responded, “Nothing says authenticity like spending $20 million to pay consultants and strategists and focus groups to tell you how to talk to a certain audience.”

Behar maintained her stance, saying the funding would be better spent on fixing what she views as inherent flaws in men’s character.

When Griffin pushed back and referenced the party’s recent losses with male voters, Behar implied that sexism explained support for Trump, adding, “[Trump] was running against a woman, I’m telling you.”

Griffin replied, “You think that Democrats who were with Biden in 2020 left to be with Trump because they’re sexist?” Behar answered, “I don’t know the reason, but it’s very suspicious.”

The Times report and ensuing View discussion reflect a broader problem within the Democratic Party, which suffered major losses in 2024, including the presidency and control of the Senate.

Four Senate seats flipped to Republicans, none of which involved female Democratic candidates.

Strategists say the party’s messaging has alienated male voters, particularly on issues related to culture, education, and the economy. The SAM initiative is one of several efforts by Democratic leadership to reverse the trend.

But critics argue that the kind of rhetoric on display during The View segment—dismissing voters as sexist rather than addressing substantive policy concerns—is exactly why male voters continue to shift rightward.

Despite warnings from their own consultants, party figures and media personalities appear resistant to recalibrating their approach.
