Joy Behar’s Cheap Shot at Trump Was So Bad Even Whoopi Had to Shut It Down [WATCH]

How is “The View” still on the air? That’s the question conservatives have been asking for years as the daytime talk show continues to serve as a safe space for leftist hysteria.

On Wednesday, Joy Behar nearly took things too far—again—when she suggested she’d rather see President Donald Trump buy a rocket from Elon Musk than a Tesla, heavily implying what she hoped would happen next, as reported by The Western Journal.

The comment was so reckless that even Whoopi Goldberg had to step in and stop her before things spiraled out of control.

The discussion started as the hosts talked about Trump’s recent visit to the White House, where he met with Elon Musk, the chair of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and owner of Tesla, to check out some of the company’s latest car models.

Trump, ever the showman, even climbed into a Tesla Model S, teasing that he might buy one. The moment was livestreamed on X and later posted to Trump’s Truth Social account.

As Goldberg brought up Musk’s work with DOGE, Behar couldn’t resist taking a cheap shot at Trump. “I would have preferred instead of buying a Tesla, [Trump] would have bought a rocket from Elon,” she quipped.

Before she could finish her thought—which, given SpaceX’s recent track record, left little to the imagination—Goldberg immediately shut her down.

“Don’t do it. Don’t do it,” she warned, quickly cutting to commercial before Behar could dig herself into a deeper hole.

The timing of Behar’s ill-advised remark couldn’t have been worse. Just last week, SpaceX experienced another rocket failure, marking the second major explosion of the year.

Behar, in her usual fashion, thought she was making a clever joke, but the optics were nothing short of reckless.

This isn’t the first time “The View” has landed in hot water over unhinged comments. Back in February, Behar falsely claimed that Musk, who was born in South Africa, was a supporter of apartheid.

The backlash was swift enough that she was forced to walk back her statement on air and plead with Musk not to sue her.

Then in November, co-host Sunny Hostin had to read a legal disclaimer after repeating debunked allegations about Trump’s former attorney general pick, Matt Gaetz.

For a show that’s been on the air for decades, these are rookie mistakes. One would think that a panel of seasoned television personalities would understand the importance of choosing their words carefully, especially when discussing a sitting president.

But “The View” has never been about responsible discourse—it’s about giving leftist elites a platform to spew their talking points, no matter how outrageous.

Trump has only been back in office for two months, and already the left-wing media can’t contain itself. The real question is: Can “The View” manage to survive another four years without getting a visit from the Secret Service?
