Joy Reid was fired from her hosting gig at MSNBC two and a half weeks ago after 10 years with the company. Her immediate response was to post this video defending the value of her show on the grounds that she gave a lot of free PR to left-wing extremists like Black Lives Matter:
🚨 Joy Reid breaks down sobbing while addressing being fired from MSNBC:
“My show had value…whether it was the Black Lives Matter issues…We need to understand 1619 as the real founding of this country…Gaza…the American people have a right to object to little babies being… pic.twitter.com/Ux5Nu1lZf5

Nearly three weeks later, Radar Online is reporting that Joy is angry and ready to burn MSNBC’s house down.
An MSNBC insider said: “She’s livid, and she knows everything. She’s ready to burn the house down.”
According to sources, Reid signed her own death warrant by holding an internal summit with other anchors, including Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell and Nicolle Wallace, to unite in battle against the network’s new strategy to be less left-wing biased.
I can believe that Reid is angry but I’m not convinced she is going to be able to do much to MSNBC. To put it another way, the network knows where all of her bodies are buried too. We’ve already had one apparently leak about an antisemitic rant.
Former MSNBC host Joy Reid went “on a vile antisemitic rant,” in which she blamed Orthodox Jews for the spread of COVID-19 in New York City, a former production assistant at the network claims.
In the summer of 2020, the lefty former “TheReidOut” host allegedly ripped Orthodox Jews, saying they “only care about themselves” and are “in their own bubble,” and accused the group of reckless behavior during the pandemic, according to the PA.
The ex-PA, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said she is speaking out now that Reid’s been axed because “people should know what her character is.”
This allegedly happened on a conference call so it may not have been recorded, but how many embarrassing video excerpts of Reid does MSNBC have in its vaults? Remember the leak of video in which Scary Larry O’Donnell had a meltdown over someone hammering in his earpiece? Stop the hammering!!!
In any case, New York Magazine published a story yesterday arguing that the new, Joy-less MSNBC has a bright future.
MSNBC’s new president, Rebecca Kutler…announced that MSNBC would be building out an independent reporting operation, led by veteran executive Scott Matthews. The network will be hiring more than 100 journalists — from field producers to correspondents to photographers — to work across the operation, which will include a bureau in Washington (for which it’s looking for a bureau chief) and a newsroom in New York…
The end product won’t actually look a whole lot different from how it looks today: MSNBC will still be doing a lot of resistance bait, in the mornings, at night, and on weekends. Still, the enterprise journalism it commissions will drive shows throughout the day, offering plenty of opportunities for an openly progressive network to blanket stories that Fox News won’t touch or CNN may be wary of owning, such as the ongoing detention of activist Mahmoud Khalil.
Kutler last month announced an overhaul to MSNBC’s lineup that included canceling Joy Reid’s 7 p.m. show. While Reid has complained that her show “had value” and implied that it was canceled for her outspoken positions on issues like the Black Lives Matter movement, it has often been MSNBC’s lowest-rated show in prime time. Reid will be replaced by a panel hosted by Symone D. Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez…
Yes, plenty of room for MSNBC to shift from being the pro-BLM network to being the pro-Hamas network. I’m sure that will work out great.
I have no sympathy for Joy Reid and I think the network was smart to ditch her race-baiting show. That said, this is the network whose top reporters and anchors recently got sued for $30 million for falsely labeling a doctor the “uterus collector” on air. Rachel Maddow, Nicolle Wallace, and Chris Hayes were all implicated in that lawsuit which MSNBC wisely settled last month for an undisclosed sum. Chances are good that the new MSNBC is going to be a disaster, even without Joy Reid adding to the circus.
