A Fulton County judge has directed District Attorney Fani Willis to disclose all communications with Special Counsel Jack Smith and the House January 6 Committee.

This decision comes after months of resistance from Willis’ office and a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a prominent conservative watchdog group, demanding transparency, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

March, 1, 2024; Atlanta, GA, USA; Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis arrives during a hearing on the Georgia election interference case, Friday, March, 1, 2024, in Atlanta. The hearing is to determine whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be removed from the case because of a relationship with Nathan Wade, special prosecutor she hired in the election interference case against former President Donald Trump. Earlier this year, Judicial Watch took legal action after Willis ignored their open records request regarding her collaboration with federal entities and congressional committees tied to her controversial prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

Judicial Watch’s President, Tom Fitton, didn’t mince words, stating, “I think this is the first time in Judicial Watch’s 30 years that a government official failed to answer an open records lawsuit in court. This further shows Ms. Willis has something to hide about her collusion with the Biden administration and Nancy Pelosi’s Congress on her unprecedented and compromised ‘get-Trump’ prosecution.”

The watchdog group argued for a default judgment against Willis, citing her failure to meet the legal deadline for responding to their request.

Under Georgia law, Willis was required to file a response within 30 days of service, making her answer due by April 10, 2024. When she missed this deadline and failed to rectify the default within the legally permitted 15-day grace period, Judicial Watch escalated their motion.

The Fulton County Superior Court has now ruled in Judicial Watch’s favor, delivering a stinging rebuke to Willis. The judge ordered her to provide all responsive materials that were not legally exempt within five business days. The ruling also determined that Willis’ conduct violated Georgia’s transparency laws.

In the court’s written order, it was stated, “The Court also hereby ORDERS Defendant to conduct a diligent search of her records for responsive materials within five business days of the entry of this Order. Within that same five day period, Defendant is ORDERED to provide Plaintiff with copies of all responsive records that are not legally exempted or excepted from disclosure.”

This marks a significant victory for Judicial Watch and transparency advocates, as the court has formally held Willis accountable for her actions.

Her decision to sidestep legal deadlines and ignore requests for information has drawn sharp criticism from conservatives, who see her prosecution of Trump as politically motivated.

The revelation of any collaboration with Jack Smith and the January 6 Committee could raise further questions about federal influence in state-level prosecutions. This adds to the perception that Willis’ actions are less about justice and more about advancing partisan goals.
