USAID is mostly dead. I say “mostly” dead because Miracle Max may still find a way to use a bellow to revive it, but as far as I remember, the process required true love, and the only true love USAID had was for cold hard cash.

USAID has been one of the key centers of resistance, with deep ties to the Intelligence Community, NGOs, foreign governments, consulting firms, and, of course, the State Department. It disperses tens of billions of dollars, a tiny percentage of which gets to actual aid recipients, and believe it or not helped fund the Wuhan lab and, therefore, the creation of COVID.

Last week, I wrote about how Trump summarily dismissed dozens of USAID managers for insubordination, and over the weekend, the entire agency went “POOF” after trying to block DOGE investigators from entering the building. Or, should I say, all evidence online that the organization exists went POOF. There is some dispute over whether the president can legally close the entire thing down or whether Congress needs to pass a law to eliminate it.
As I said, it is “mostly dead.”

As a practical matter, as long as the president can get DOGE to go through the books it will be hard to revive the agency in its current form because, simply put, it is corrupt to the core. Not that it doesn’t do some good things–with tens of billions of dollars something good might come of it. But current estimates are that only about 10% of the aid ever receives the “intended” recipients–assuming that the downtrodden really ARE the intended recipients.

USAID is mostly a CIA front organization–it uses foreign aid as a way to get money to activists, NGOs, corrupt politicians, and even fund the censorship complex. Nina Jankowicz–the disinformation queen–is currently funded by USAID.

Even PBS–not a place where foreign aid is reviled, recently did a story about how the money gets siphoned off into consulting companies and NGOs completely indifferent to getting results.

USAID is part of the government to NGO to politician to foundations money laundering scheme. It worked closely with the Clinton Foundation on Haiti recovery, and we all know how that worked out. USAID partnered with Burisma when Hunter Biden was on the board, funneled money to the Chinese MILITARY for biological research, and uses “humanitarian” programs as covers for political subversion activities.

The political blowback for shutting down, even temporarily, USAID is going to be enormous. All the big consulting firms get billions of dollars from this slush fund, NGOs live and die with USAID grants, and the IC uses the agency to launder money and agents into other countries.

The Democratic Party is deeply entwined with the agency, and the transnational elite has been able to use it as a massive slush fund, so the backlash will be intense.

You may think of foreign aid in terms of keeping the poorest of the poor from dying horrible deaths, but the meat and potatoes of USAID is extending the tendrils of power for the transnational elite and funding political operations. Trump is going for the jugular here–and the target is almost 100% domestic. If the estimates of how much goes to legitimate aid to poor people is really 10% of the foreign aid budget–as seems likely–then this one move could rob the left of several dozen billions of dollars dedicated to expanding their power over us.

At the very least, Trump has found a way to get the bureaucrats out of the building and DOGE into it, and if they can root around long enough they can blow the lid off of massive corruption.
