This Mexican president, man. She sure gets things backward.
🚨🇲🇽 BREAKING — Mexico Will Sue ICE over Killing of Jaime GarcÃa in California. pic.twitter.com/zVz8lDnxIq

I mean, this was horrible all around. I know even the law enforcement on the raid probably feel awful, but I sure hope they don’t feel responsible. In fact, they weren’t even  in pursuit of Mr. GarcÃa when he climbed up on a roof during last week’s raid at the California pot farm..
…The Department of Homeland Security said he was not being pursued by law enforcement when he fell.
“This man was not in and has not been in CBP or ICE custody. Although he was not being pursued by law enforcement, this individual climbed up to the roof of a green house and fell 30 feet,” said DHS Public Affairs Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “CBP immediately called a medivac to the scene to get him care as quickly as possible.”
Had this man not been in the United States illegally, he would have never been on that farm or roof, and we all would have been spared an unnecessary tragedy.
But he was. And Sheinbaum is milking this moment for all its worth.
…”Jaime was not just a farmworker, he was a provider, and a human being who deserved dignity. His death is not an isolated tragedy. It is the result of a targeted raid at Glass House Farms. Workers were met not with protection, but with chaos and fear. Some were detained. Others were traumatized. Jaime lost his life,” the family posted on social media.
…”We are supporting the family, we are in contact with them, and we’re also exploring the possibility of filing a complaint (in the U.S.) because this is unacceptable,” Sheinbaum said at a Tuesday press conference. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently reviewing the matter. It is very unfortunate that this happened. All our solidarity and support go to the family, and there must not be another case like this one. That’s why the complaint must be filed in the courts over there.”
The only possible reason I can see for this ludicrous announcement and pandering is that Sheinbaum wants to help Bass, Newsom, and the sanctuary states tie up any ICE and Customs and Border Patrol in the court system for as long as possible, and this is one more way to do it.
And frankly, it’s disgusting.Â
How about the United States starts suing a third-world country for the damages and deaths caused by its citizens who’ve scampered over the border and lived large in the States, helping keep her miserable, wretched fiefdom afloat with their remittances every two weeks.
You could say this guy crashed and burned!
Rear-ending someone while drunk is never a good idea. Now, an illegal alien crashing into Border Patrol Agents’ vehicle while drunk…? That’s a whole new level of bad ideas.#Pasadena Police Department booked him for a DUI, but his… pic.twitter.com/33hDjswXiP

Speaking of which, remittances may also be why the Mexican chica is blustering to call off the border hounds – those remittances ain’t what they used to be. And holy crap, is Sheinbaum going to be in a world of hurt if those keep fading away.
Mexico sees sharpest drop in remittances in 12 years
The money that individuals working abroad send to their families in Mexico fell for a third month this year.
And some fear further, possibly catastrophic declines in this vital source of income for the Mexican economy if the U.S. Senate approves the 3.5 percent tax on remittances the House green-lit in its version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Bank of Mexico (Banxico) data released this week shows Mexican families received $4.76 billion in wire transfers, checks, money orders and cash from abroad in April. That’s more than a quarter-of-a-billion-dollar decline from the $5.14 billion received in March, Banxico reports.
It also represents a 12.1 percent year-over-year decline – the biggest dip since September 2012. Mexico last year received $64.7 billion in remittances representing 4 percent of its gross domestic product.
When you start to squeeze off the money flow, it’s amazing who starts to squawk.
The Senate has backed the tax off from 3.5% to 1%. But as the number of actual money orders heading back to the old country continues to drop, the effect on the Mexican economy, ever a basket case on the best day, is going to be catastrophic.
And the numbers for May were grim again.
Remittances sent to Mexico dropped 4.6% in May compared to a year earlier, according to central bank data published on Tuesday, as the United States prepares to implement a tax on the money sent by workers to their families back home.
The figure for May hit some $5.36 billion, the accumulation of some 13.9 million transactions averaging $385 each. While the size of each transaction edged up compared to the same month last year, the number of transactions dropped some 5.7%.
Second only in the world to India as far as countries receiving remittances, no wonder they’re sweating bullets and making worried cooing noises of support for the illegals sending the money from America.
…While Mexican officials seemed relieved the bill had been amended, President Claudia Sheinbaum said that if signed into law, her government would announce a program to reimburse the 1% lost to the U.S. tax.
“Look at the love our migrant brothers and sisters have for their families and for Mexico,” Sheinbaum said at her morning press conference on Tuesday. “No matter what the circumstances, they always support their families.”
Manuel Orozco, director of the Migration, Remittances, and Development Program at the Inter-American Dialogue, said approximately 40% of remittances to Mexico are sent in cash, though the number of electronic transfers is likely to increase if the bill passes.
Basically, Sheinbaum is telling Mexican illegals to stay here and keep on truckin’.
You know – for their families’ sake.
What a peach.
