Kamala: I Beat Donald Trump….at 3-D Chess. No, Really.

No, really not. Apparently, no one has explained to Kamala Harris that Inauguration Day has come and gone, and that she didn’t just take a gap year on the Joy McBrat Presidency. Instead of sitting in the Oval Office, Harris found herself on the set of the “Storehouse & Friends” podcast this weekend, plugging her memoir of the campaign and rewriting history.

In Kamala’s case, rewriting history beats telling it honestly. And in her mind, “beating” Donald Trump consists of sticking to a losing strategy, because, er … Star Trek, or something:

“I was aware of my opponent’s strategy. And I wasn’t about to fall prey or fall into those traps,” Harris said.” And part of his strategy, and those around him, was to try and take me off our game and message.”

“And I wasn’t about to be distracted by those flames that he was trying to throw to get me away from one of my highest priorit[ies], which was talking to people about the economy and their well-being, in terms of their financial well-being,” she added. “I understood the game that was being played and I made a decision that I wasn’t going to get played.”

Harris then cackled for several seconds while at least one of the hosts said, “Chess, not checkers.”

“Yeah. Three-dimensional chess,” Harris responded.

I included this in last night’s Final Word without much comment, because this is a truly flabbergasting claim. It takes a while to wrap one’s head around the sheer scale of delusional thought that goes into this statement. Does Harris know that she lost the election? And not just by a thin margin either; Harris lost every swing state in the election and became the first Democrat in twenty years to lose the popular vote to a Republican nominee. 

She’s bragging about outsmarting Trump on strategic thinking from the set of a podcast, at the same time — nearly in the same hour — that Trump humbled the entire Democrat Party on Capitol Hill in the government shutdown. 

And how exactly did Harris use her insight into Trump’s strategy? She claims that she focused on “talking to the people about the economy and their well-being,” but she did no such thing. She mainly hid behind the celebrities she paid to appear at her rallies, barely spoke otherwise, and hid from reporters until nearly the end of her campaign. When she did speak to reporters, it was such a disaster that 60 Minutes and CBS News had to heavily edit her answers to make them seem coherent. CBS and Paramount later paid a $16 million settlement with Trump over that corrupt act. 

Besides, Harris’ main message wasn’t about the economy. It was the continuation of the Biden campaign’s main message that Trump was disqualified for office, and that she should win by default. Harris, or whoever was actually trying to play 3-D chess, structured that message to deflect from Harris’ complete incompetence. Democrats hoped to force the election to be a referendum on Trump rather than the fiasco-ridden Biden administration. That was the only way that Harris could compete, and for that matter, to argue earlier that a senile Joe Biden would be a better choice than his predecessor.

It didn’t work, of course, even if Harris hasn’t yet noticed. Well, those books won’t just sell themselves, I suppose, but why would anyone buy a campaign memoir from someone whose memories of the campaign are every bit as bad as her former boss’ about everything else?

This absurd attempt at spin does raise another interesting point, though. One has to wonder why Democrats didn’t adopt the same aphasiac spin about the Schumer Shutdown itself after Sunday night. It’s really a win! Trust us! We played 3-D chess with Trump! Maybe there isn’t enough box wine in the world to sell that to progressives.
