Karoline Leavitt COOKED Fake News So Thoroughly, Hungary PM Tries to Hire Her [WATCH]

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban made headlines Friday during his White House visit after joking that he wanted to hire President Donald Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, following her pointed remarks to reporters over what she called “fake news” coverage of the economy and affordability issues.

The exchange occurred near the end of a bilateral meeting between President Trump and Orban in the Cabinet Room, where the two leaders discussed Hungarian trade and energy cooperation.

As the press was ushered in for questions, a reporter asked the president about his remarks the previous evening on affordability.

“You said last night you didn’t want to talk about affordability,” the reporter said.

President Trump quickly responded, “I talked about it. When did I not want to talk about it? I talk about it all the time. We are much better than Biden and all of them now.”

The president then called for Leavitt to join the meeting, prompting the 27-year-old press secretary to deliver an unplanned defense of the administration’s record.

“They said, ‘Oh, I don’t want to talk about affordability.’ The reason I don’t want to talk about affordability is because everybody knows that it’s far less expensive under Trump than it was under Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump said.

“And the prices are way down.”

Leavitt entered the room moments later and directed her response at the assembled reporters.

“It’s very unfortunate that the reporters in this room refused to address, sir, what you just said, which is that you inherited the worst inflation crisis in modern American history, and you are fixing it in 10 short months,” she said.

She continued, “And your entire administration has been tasked with this effort, from Treasury Department to Agriculture Department to the National Economic Council right here at the White House, they are slashing regulation. He signed the largest middle-class tax cut in six months. In six months, in record time. Putting more money back into the American people’s pockets.”

“Affordability is what the American people elected this president to do,” Leavitt added.

“And he is doing it. And you guys refuse to cover it. And you refused to cover that the previous administration created the worst unaffordability crisis in American history. And I’ve been watching the TV all day saying that he doesn’t want to talk about affordability. That’s what he’s working on every day. And that’s what this administration is doing now.”

As reporters remained quiet, President Trump quipped that the media “refused” to acknowledge his economic progress because they were “fake news.”

At that point, Orban leaned toward the president and asked, “Can I get her for us?” Trump laughed and replied, “Karoline, the prime minister would like you to work for him in Hungary.”

Turning to Orban, the president joked, “You know what, that’s a very good decision you just made. Please don’t leave us, Karoline.”

The lighthearted moment closed out a meeting that also addressed international energy strategy and U.S.–Hungary economic relations.

Orban’s trip to Washington comes as he seeks a U.S. exemption from sanctions placed on Russia in October.

The Hungarian leader has called for continued negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine and expressed frustration over delays in diplomatic progress.

Friday’s exchange marked Orban’s first in-person meeting with President Trump since his visit to Mar-a-Lago earlier this year, where both leaders emphasized national sovereignty and economic independence as shared priorities.

At the White House, Orban praised the administration’s approach to global energy markets and signaled interest in deepening trade ties with the United States.

The moment between Orban and Leavitt, though unscripted, drew significant attention online, with clips circulating widely across social media soon after the meeting concluded.

It served as a reminder of the administration’s ongoing tensions with the press and President Trump’s insistence that his economic policies are reversing what he has called “the Biden affordability disaster.”
