The Trump administration is pushing forward with a sweeping new legislative package titled the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” which is being described by the White House as a pro-family, pro-taxpayer measure aimed at boosting savings for families, protecting Medicaid, and extending key Trump-era tax cuts.

The bill is currently under review in Congress and is facing internal debate among Republicans in the House.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt provided details on the bill during a Monday morning briefing, highlighting a range of family-oriented provisions.

Chief among them is the creation of optional savings accounts for newborns, dubbed “MAGA baby savings accounts,” along with an expansion of the child tax credit.

“This One Big, Beautiful Bill is also pro-family,” Leavitt stated.

“It will increase the child tax credit to $2,500 per child, establish optional savings accounts for newborn babies with a $1,000 credit added, and strengthen paid family leave.”

According to Leavitt, the savings accounts are designed for children born before January 1, 2024, who are under the age of eight, are U.S. citizens, and have at least one parent with a valid Social Security number.

These accounts would allow family members to contribute up to $5,000 per year in after-tax dollars.

Funds in the account could be accessed starting at age 25, with full access permitted by age 30.

“Essentially, it’s a 401(k) for a newborn baby,” Leavitt explained.

“Their parents or relatives can contribute annually, and the child will later be able to use those funds for life goals like buying a home or investing in their future.”

Beyond the baby savings provisions, the legislation also includes new tax relief for retirees.

Specifically, the bill allows middle- and low-income Social Security recipients to deduct an additional $4,000 in payments from their taxable income.

“If Democrats get their way and the Trump tax cuts are not extended,” Leavitt warned, “Americans will face the largest tax hike in history to the tune of $4 trillion.”

The legislation also includes provisions aimed at preserving and reforming Medicaid.

According to Leavitt, the bill will implement measures to curb waste, fraud, and abuse within the program, while maintaining benefits for qualified recipients.

“Medicaid will no longer be used to pay for barbaric gender mutilation procedures on minor children,” she said.

“And the 1.4 million illegal aliens who are currently improperly receiving Medicaid benefits will be removed from the program to preserve it for hardworking American citizens.”

Leavitt emphasized that Medicaid will continue to support pregnant women, children, disabled individuals, low-income seniors, and families in need, while preventing what she called “transgender insanity” and unauthorized access by non-citizens.

The 1,116-page bill, which is now moving through committee reviews, has encountered some resistance among House Republicans.

Some lawmakers have voiced concerns that the measure does not go far enough in reducing the national debt or addressing state and local income tax deductions.

Despite these challenges, President Trump is set to meet with members of Congress on Tuesday morning to rally support for the legislation.

The administration has framed the bill as a signature piece of Trump’s second-term domestic agenda, combining family-focused incentives with fiscal oversight and entitlement program reform.
