Karoline Leavitt Says DOJ ‘Working Diligently’ On Epstein Files After Daily Caller Question

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) are “working diligently” to secure the release of the Jeffrey Epstein and JFK files.

“I would defer you to our DNI Tulsi Gabbard and also the Department of Justice. I know that they are working on that diligently as the president requested them to do,” Leavitt said in response to a question about the files release from Daily Caller White House Correspondent Reagan Reese.

Leavitt said she does not have a timeline for the release of the files. The question comes amid ongoing concern that files containing information on the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and files about the assassination of President John F. On Feb. 27, U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced the release of the first round of files on Epstein in a press release. These files are tied to his exploitation of more than 250 underage girls at his New York and Florida residences, according to the DOJ. The first phase of documents released had been leaked prior to the formal release from the government, the department said. The release did not include a client list, stirring backlash.

“This Department of Justice is following through on President Trump’s commitment to transparency and lifting the veil on the disgusting actions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators,” Bondi said in a statement. “The first phase of files released today sheds light on Epstein’s extensive network and begins to provide the public with long overdue accountability.”

Officials obtained approximately 200 pages of documents, according to the DOJ. However, Bondi learned of thousands of pages of documents connected to the investigation and charging of Epstein she said had not been previously disclosed to her office. She then told FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate why the request for all the documents was not carried out.

Bondi told Fox’s Sean Hannity on March 3 that they’re working to get the files out.

“We’re going to go through it, go through it as fast as we can, but go through it very cautiously to protect all the victims of Epstein, because there are a lot of victims,” Bondi said.

Trump signed an executive order on Jan. 23 calling for the release of records involving the assassinations of JFK, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Their families and the American people deserve transparency and truth. It is in the national interest to finally release all records related to these assassinations without delay,” the order said.

Bondi confirmed to Hannity that they’re also working on releasing the files on Kennedy and King.
