The once-celebrated Kelly Clarkson Show may be facing its most turbulent chapter yet, as insiders claim the production is unraveling from within.
Amid swirling rumors of Kelly Clarkson’s dissatisfaction and looming departure, staffers are reportedly in panic mode, fearing the show “could collapse any minute.”
What was once hailed as a feel-good hit of daytime television has become a behind-the-scenes battleground of emotional exhaustion, mounting frustrations, and growing resentment.

Whispers of internal instability first began back in March when Clarkson, 43, mysteriously missed several tapings due to unspecified “personal reasons.”
Since then, multiple sources have described Clarkson’s on-set behavior as erratic and emotionally unpredictable.
According to a producer who spoke to Daily Mail on condition of anonymity, Clarkson’s demeanor has sent shockwaves through her production team.
“Not feeling too stable,” the producer admitted. “She could bolt at any time. Where does that leave me?”

The producer elaborated further: “Stressed is an understatement. No one likes the uncertainty. This feels like it could collapse any minute.”
Clarkson’s current $12.8 million NBC contract runs through 2026, but insiders suggest she may be considering an early exit.
While her absence would once have seemed unthinkable, staffers are now reportedly entertaining alternative scenarios—including replacing her with former TODAY host Hoda Kotb, 60.

“Everyone loves Kelly,” the producer emphasized.
“She’s a wonderful person. But maybe Hoda would be a better boss. I know she’s universally beloved and respected by her former coworkers. Maybe she would be good. She sure would be a lot more stable than what we’ve been going through.”
Another staffer added, “If Kelly is unhappy, then she should move on. We would all understand. If Hoda wants to do it, it could be win-win for everyone.”
While some still defend Clarkson’s character, others behind the scenes are no longer mincing words.
Earlier this month, a different source accused the host of being “ungrateful,” citing the sacrifices her team made to support her.
“Kelly Clarkson is ungrateful, and she fails to recognize how her staff uprooted their lives in Los Angeles and left their homes to relocate to New York because they believed in her and they loved working for her,” the insider told The Mail.

Fuel was added to the fire during a recent concert at the Etess Arena in Atlantic City, where Clarkson appeared to take a public jab at her staff.
After being told she looked “sexy” by a fan, Clarkson vented her frustration that her own team didn’t compliment her weight loss enough.
“Every time I go to an HR meeting, I’m like, ‘How have I not been fired?’… they say you’re not allowed to say someone looks attractive, and I say [expletive] that,” Clarkson declared.
“Because some of those [expletives] are out here working, and we’re trying, and I want every mother-[expletive] that passes me to go, ‘Damn. Well done.’”
She went on to criticize HR’s reaction to her complimenting a coworker’s transformation, recalling, “They were like, ‘Well, it might make people feel bad that they looked bad before.’ I was fat before, so I’m saying I want you to say, ‘Damn.’”
These comments reportedly hit a nerve among her team, many of whom felt abandoned and disrespected.

“For her to abandon her own show and then come out months later and say that she did not agree with the way that HR handled comments she made about weight is incredibly disrespectful,” one insider said.
The source continued, “Kelly’s appeal was that she was relatable. She made people laugh and she made people feel good about themselves. She has struggled with weight loss and it was a big part of her story. But suddenly she loses all her weight in an over a short period of time and now it feels like she is focused solely on her image. Kelly has caused heartbreak among staff.”
Kelly Clarkson has enjoyed widespread admiration ever since winning the first season of American Idol in 2002.
Since launching The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019, she has carved out a strong presence in daytime television.
But even the brightest stars can lose their shine if the backstage drama becomes too loud to ignore.
Whether Clarkson decides to stay or go, her team is clearly at a breaking point.
Only time will tell if NBC steps in to stabilize the situation—or if this chapter ends with the show’s shocking collapse.
